TX State Sojourn

May 20, 2008 18:34

Went to a full day of school, then drove the commute to San Marcus to speak with the heads of two departments at Texas State University (the head of the Sound Recording Technology dept. [SRT] and the Music dept. head). They told me a lot very quickly O.o.
I got a good idea of how much time I will have to spend practicing my instruments of choice to have a shot at the SRT audition (March 1st next year. A sight reading passage on concert snare, a prepaired concert snare piece, and some trap kit sight reading). The audition is tough. They only accept 15 people a year into this specific program. But after he showed me around the place, I knew why. THE GEAR THAT THEY HAVE THERE IS FANTASTIC. I really want to go O.O
The music head told me all about the classes that would be relevant to my interests and what courses I should take as a freshman to ready myself for a shot at SRT.

Drank beer, took care of brothers baby, food with family, and now I'm here.
Passable as a day, I suppose : ).
