So sad...

I have seen the college times to come and they look awesome!

Alright so May 3rd I stayed home from school because I felt really sick, and what's the deal with going to school for an hour when I feel like shit anyway? So I just stuck around. At around noon my dad came home and he, my mom and I all left for GVSU. I got to drive down there which was awesome. My parents kept getting on me about my tailgating but the thing was there was this asshole who would get in the other lane until right when I was about to pass him, then he'd cut me off to pass someone in his lane and go like 5 mph slower than I was going, so then my parents would be like "KELLY BACK OFF!" It made me angry.

So we got down there at about 2:30 or so. First we went to Burger King right off campus to get some food cause we were all starving. Then we went back to GVSU and went into the Financial Aid office and talked to someone in that department about some of my parents' financial questions. Then we just drove around campus until check-in time was. First of all, we went in the back door so we looked really dumb. I got my key, and my parents got theirs (future students in one wing, parents in the other). I dropped my stuff off in my dorm then got my folder and such and went into the Great Room where I met Pat. He's a tall lanky guy who was wearing glasses and a paper chef's hat. He was like "HI! I'm Pat!" And stuck out his hand to shake mine. From that things just got better. There were a few girls standing in the lobby with blue GVSU shirts on and they were asking me about my intended major and talking about the classes I should take and stuff. Then a couple of the girls tapered off and I met Bethany. She's a Junior or Senior in Honor's College right now, and she's the nicest girl you would ever hope to meet. She met my parents and talked to all of us about what just everything. Then when everyone got settled in we all had dinner and she sat with us at dinner and talked. I met Miguel (another Honor's student) at dinner too. I think he was gay. Maybe not. But he was so nice. As was Tim, who I also met at dinner. Then we went back into the Great Room and the Chemistry Prof. broke everyone into groups. Parents went one way, Engineering students went another, english/social science majors went another, and science majors went with the Chemistry Prof. Since I was intending on majoring in Chemistry at this point, I went with him. We all went upstairs in this big cushy meeting room with a fireplace, TV set, and like tons of couches. And then I first set eyes on him.

Dustin. Mier.

Okay, Dustin's not...GORGEOUS to the 'normal' eye. His teeth aren't PERFECTLY straight, but they're not too far off. He has the most BEAUTIFUL blue eyes ever. He wasn't overweight, but not skinny, not tall, but not short. AVERAGE. And I love it.

He came up a couple minutes into Prof Baum talking about GVSU and the science program in Honor's. He looked at me right off the bat, and sat down on the chair next to me. He talked a lot about things he thought might help us, explaining he worked at a place called the S.M.A.R.T. Center that pretty much helps students that want to go into science, pick which classes they should take and stuff. So he knew a lot of what he was talking about. Then we went downstairs and I met Stacey who's an Honor's College Alumna. She explained her sister was into Clinical Laboratory Sciences (which has always interested me), and I told her that. Then we had to go BACK UPSTAIRS. Then a counsellor came up and talked to us, then Stacey, and then some Dean of Housing. After we were dismissed, a girl came up and was like "WHO HERE WAS INTERESTED IN CLS?" and I was like "Me!" So she came over while everyone filtered out and just talked to me about what it entailed and asked if I wanted help getting my schedule done. I was like "SURE!" Cause I had no idea what to take, so we went and sat down at this table. That's when I first TALKED to Dustin. He came over (for a reason unbeknownst to us), and just started helping Marcy (CLS girl) with my schedule. He's SUPER knowledgable about all that stuff. He's like "Don't take Bio your first semester, I'm almost positive they won't approve that schedule. Take it in the winter with Chem 116, they'll be okay with that, and you should look into HPR 111, which is Medical Terminology, which is where you learn all the root words of medical terms" and all this. Being just really nice. This first day I didn't really feel too much for Dustin just cause I didn't really think too much about it. Marcy, Dustin, and I went downstairs, (he held the door open for me, how nice!) he was talking about basketball or something. I figured either that's where he'd come from, or that's where he was going. Marcy and I went to her dorm and got her laptop and then went back into the Honor's college and took an empty classroom and set up. She went online to check which classes were open and for what time. In the meantime I got my parents and had them come inside the classroom and help.

So blah blah blah, an hour and a half go by and we've got my schedule DOWN, but I then realize that I have to take a math placement test in registration the next day, but didn't have a calculator, so Marcy says I can use hers, and give it to Dustin when I'm done. Sooo she goes and puts her laptop away, I go into the Great Room, my parents go to bed. I'm snacking on a mini brownie and Dustin comes up to me and starts asking me questions about my major. I ask him about his, ask him about what Civ Sequence (American Civ, Euro Civ, etc etc) he took, and which he'd recommend, he tells me story after story about Euro Civ and all this, and then says "Marcy said you'll be using her calculator and giving it to me? I'd let you use MINE but it's in my other bookbag. I could just switch it to my bookbag for tomorrow but then I might not put it back, and I might forget it. I'd hate to have you depending on me and then just forget it". So yeah, more funny stuff happen where he ends up telling Marcy he's going to sell her calculator on Ebay when she gives it to me, him telling her he's going to be a millionaire one day for his homemade Quad by Dustin function, and him telling me math is 'use it or lose it' lol.

I go to bed. Wake up the next day and get some breakfast before turning in my key and checking out. We drive over to Henry Hall and I check in for my math placement exam. I TAKE my math placement exam and then go to find Dustin to give the calculator back. I thought he'd just take it and send me on my way cause he was busy, but nooo. He was like "So how'd you do??" I was like "Eh, I think I did alright. Forgot a lot of my trig" and he's like "It's like we talked about, use it or lose it. You'll be fine." so I went back to my parents and talked to them about my scheduleeeeee then we went into this big lecture hall for the orientation opening. Then we broke off AGAIN (Parents/Engineering/Everything else). Everything else went into the Cook-Dewitt Building (which is like a big chapel thing), and watched a presentation given by one of the math profs. Then halfway he's like "Stand up if you're in honors" and I did, because I am, and then he's like "You all are leaving us" so we all left! Halfway through! WTF? So we left and went into the Kirkhof center (which is like this huge building with a movie theatre, game room, and like 10 different little mini cafes downstairs). So we went into this one cafe downstairs, and like, there were TONS of seats open. I was sitting on the end of this one big table with 50 jillion seats left in this room. Couches, the whole thing. And where does Dustin sit? Right. Next. To. Me. But almost as soon as he sat down, the Psych professor came over and was like "How should we divie them up, Dustin?" so he said that he would take "Science and undecideds" (which he knew I'd fall under), and then he talked more about the other sections. So I went with him to this really large round table and ended up sitting across from him. He talked for a few minutes about what he talked about last night up in the meeting room with Prof. Baum, and then he's like "Well, let's give a little bit of information about ourselves since not all of you were at the orientation last night. Kelly how about you start us off?" So I did, etc etc. Then he talked some more and answered people's questions and whatnot. But what I found funny was, no matter who asked the question, or who he was directing his talking to, he was looking at me. And 90% of the time, if he wasn't answer someone's question, he was talking to ME. Like I was the only one in the room. It totally caught me off guard. At this point I'm thinking "What if he has a crush on me? He's such a cutie, he couldn't possibly have a crush on ME, I'm looking too much into it". So we go and eat lunch (which was delicious, by the way). Then we all walked over to Manitou Hall for the actual registration.

On the way there, he was walking right behind me, and I had no jacket on, and he had a jacket on, and he's like "It's fricking COLD out here" and I was like "Wusss" ya know, and he puts on these big officer Farve sunglasses and was like "Um. It was like snowing here and 30 mile per hour winds and I ran for like 16 miles, I'm not a wuss", but he was joking, ya know. So then I just walked and didn't pay attention to him cause he was talking to some other student. When we got there, there were like 50 jillion computers in there, and as soon as I sat down, he's like "I'm the helper for this row!" (my row). I was the ONLY ONE SITTING in that row! Then these two dumbass blondes sit NEXT to me. Awesome. I register for my classes and whatnot, and I wanted to be talking to Dustin, but everytime he'd make his way over to me, he'd get stopped by the two blonde's station cause they were all "OMG DUSTIN WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! HELP US!" so he was getting so pissed cause it was like walking a kindegartner through it. Good Jesus. So I just kept to myself. The CLS prof came up to me and was giving me all this info about CLS and telling me how much she was excited to have me and how she was pleased with the classes I was taking. I was just about to stand up to leave, and Dustin makes it over to my station.

"How you doing over here, Kelly?"
"I'm all done, actually!"
"You are? Wow! Did you finish registering?"
"Yep!"
"Did you take the surveys?"
"Yep!"
"Wow! Did you get your Student ID taken yet?"
"OH...nooooooo I didn't"
"HA! Well you better go do that, cause it's getting ridiculously hot in here" *walks away because someone is calling for him to help*

And so I walked to the front of the lab and got them to OK my schedule, got my picture taken, and left. Never to see Dustin since.

Ye, okay, I e-mailed him once, and he's responded once. But other than that, nothing.

And damnit, I miss him :(
