Ah, but it is a trick, for the sun is shining through them from behind; they were not really so red.
And to sate your curiosity, I have made for you a very scientific and detailed map in MS Paint, upon which the exact location where the picture was taken is labeled. You may find it here. I do not think you have walked through the area, though I may be mistaken.
I was going to protest that of course I realised the light thing, but yeah, you did that yourself. ;)
Thanks for the map! I think you might be mistaken, though - I think we walked through that street one night when coming back up from the station or lake or something. We passed the random car with Germans trying to find the youth hostel and then turned left and ended up at the Migros, so it must've been that street.
I'd half forgotten about that as well. I only remembered it after looking at the map and realising we'd walked through there (I remembered the curving bit near the Migros)...
Actually, it is a pretty detailed map, seeing as I didn't make it as such, but just added the various orientation-making points. But for those I did use MS Paint! Hm, to bed, I think.
Okay, I am saying silly things. They actually were that red, but because of the sun. It would not have been so striking otherwise.
I would just erase all comments and start over, but then I would have to come up with one intelligent comment to replace these three with, and that's just not going to happen.
(Where in Wollishofen is that? You know me, I'm always curious...)
