My Harry Potter Spoiler of Doom is:
Severus Snape is turned into a giant hamster in a scene written in the style of Samuel Beckett
Get your Harry Potter Spoiler of Doom I finally went to see OoTP today. Was a pretty good movie. I realized at the end that the Harry portrayed in this movie would've made a more convincing Anakin Skywalker and his turn to the darkside then the crappy reasons given in the Movies-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named. Think about it. Instead of being all wussified like in THOSE movies, Anakin could've had a similar experience, finding the darkness inside of him and unsure what to do, Palpatine or the Dark Side constantly whispering to him, haunted by his past, images of the death he has seen (not caused by him...yet) and tempting him. Then finally he comes to the point where he has to make the choice and falls from grace. I know THOSE movies built this similar experience but they tried so hard to just say EVIL EVIL EVIL and didn't let the darkness build with subtlety. I think HP5 did a better job in its one movie then THOSE movies did in 3. At the end when he's about to kill Belatrix I really thought "Wow, are they gonna completely change the books, is he really going to kill her? Is it really going to happen?" The possibility of Harry becoming evil seemed completely possible although I knew he doesn't. In the 3rd of THOSE movies I was just kinda like "eh, whatever...they killed Samuel Jackson WITHOUT a shark...lame. (I got motherfarkin' lightening bolts on my motherfarkin' face!)". So yeah, I think from now on when I think of the Fall and Rise of Darth Vader I'm just gonna imagine OoTP..except with lightsabers, and he kills the chick and then kicks several puppies, jaywalks and pushes a little girl off her bike. Cause that would be awwwwwesome.
Also I think the movie did better job of establishing why Harry was so torn up over Sirius' death then the book. Book was just like..."oh noes...mah pen pal died...I r teh sad ;_;". You actually felt some semblance of a relationship between the two in the movie. Eh whatever.
Finally picked up a used copy of Elite Beat Agents. So addicted, though its hard as hell. I fear moving on from the 2 stars level, but I've almost beat it ><. Damn you RJ and your musical coordination games.
And by the way, this is quite possibly the nerdiest post I've done yet. \/\/3|2o| .
