Down With Vinca!
Wow. I just spent 4 hours crossing one item off my list. However, I started with the most time-consuming and unpleasant task; this is how I work best. It turned out not to be all that unpleasant--it's a beautiful day outside--except for the poison ivy and poison oak I encountered. Hopefully, I didn't come in contact with it; I wore long sleeves, leather gloves and used inverted trash bags to pull it up, so I think I might have come away unscathed.

Stopping to smell the roses.
Ah. There. There was a nice stone wall underneath! I even uncovered some iris in the process. They appear to have purple flowers, and are about to bloom. Now that the vinca is gone, I can see how much of the bed has been overtaken by liriope. I'll have to add that to my list. First, I'm going to go shower.
