it was only last week. ian talked about going to hong kong at the end of april. he invited everyone, we said yes, and now, 9 of us are going for a short vacation to hk. the thrill of an impromptu overseas trip. this is how youth is ought to be spent, haphazard traveling, no concern for money, no responsibilities, not mugging during the cold winter, charging up steep slopes, nor typing documents till 2am every day.
nah, we've got responsibilities. we are accountable for our actions, we answer to our superiors, be it our parents or our bosses. we cant indulge in impromptu-ness.
today, i was talking to daryl about going to extend my passport on saturday, and he mentioned that we all need to re-apply for a new passport, and that process takes days. i went OMFG. chi hui swore i never looked more kan chiong. i hecked all the office work i had, my passport took precedence then and there, nothing mattered more. i left camp, cabbed home, cabbed to ica, made frequent calls to ICA to ask about passport application, and fortunately, i made it. however here's the catch, i can only collect my passport on thursday morning, and i fly on thursday afternoon. so if anyone at ICA cocks up the passport process, bloody hell.
events like this inject excitement into my life. sometimes, i'm grateful that i'm forgetful, lazy and negligent. if everything ran smoothly, the adrenalin won't kick in motion.
