Kazuya's house was big. As soon as I entered the front door, a cute labrador ran towards me and caused me to fall onto the floor as he licked me all over my face.
Kazuya laughed hard, and I couldn't help but to think that Ryo would have joined in with the licking. This made me hard, and I gently pushed the dog away, standing back up as Kazuya's laughter died down.
"Let me show you your room," he said, and grabbed my right hand.
He led me upstairs to the second storey and pushed open a black door. I gaped at the interior - the room was huge, probably half of our loft apartment.
I turned around to ask him something but he captured my lips with a gentle kiss, and caressed my hair.
Instantly I thought of all the nights I've spent whispering and moaning with my former housemate.
I broke the kiss and he smiled kindly at me.
"I'll leave you here to unpack," Kazuya said, and left the room.
My phone rang abruptly and I slightly jumped. I smiled when I saw the caller ID.
"Hello?" I answered the call.
"Have you had sex with him yet? Has he shown you the shrine he made for you? Did he ask you to marry him?" Ryo bombarded me with stupid questions.
I laughed at the familiarity of it all. It felt like I was on a vacation and would return home to Ryo within days.
"Don't be silly, Ryo." I chided, still smiling.
"Listen, if anything happens, just call me okay? You can talk to me anytime. I'll drop everything and listen to you." he said with a serious voice.
I kept silent for a while, trying to understand what he was trying to say.
"Just like old times?" I finally asked quietly.
"Just like old times." he answered warmly, which reminded me of how it felt to be in his arms.

"So anyway, it's Christmas in 3 days. I was thinking.. Will you celebrate with my family?" Kazuya asked shyly.
I hated Christmas, and so did Ryo. For 2 years now, we've been celebrating Halloween on Christmas. We'd wear ridiculous outfits that's supposed to be scary but is nothing like that at all. We'd knock on random doors and say 'Trick or Treat!' and giggle unstoppably when we get yelled at.
Then I realised something: it's not that we don't love each other. It's just that neither of us had the courage to say it out loud.
I've been in Kazuya's house for less than a day, yet all I want to do is go back to where Ryo is and watch stupid variety shows with him.
"I'm sorry," I blurted out. "I just realised that I'm in love with someone else."
"What-?"
I ran to the room where my luggage was. I didn't even bother to unpack it. I dragged it out of the house, ignoring Kazuya's questions.
I hailed a cab and directed him to the loft apartment I am used to.
When we reached the building, I ran towards the lift and went up to the 7th floor. When the lift doors opened I ran to the right and barged into the white door to see Ryo standing in front of me, drinking water from a bottle.
I stared up at him, feeling like I owed him an explanation.
"Tatsuya?" he asked in a state of shock. "Why are you her-"
I jumped onto him and hugged him tightly, ignoring the fact that we were wet as the bottle escaped Ryo's hands.
Now that I was on top of Ryo, my heart went doki doki. I gulped as he stared into my eyes.
"I love you." I said simply.
He stared at me as my words sinked in.
"I love you too." he answered.
I suddenly laughed at my stupidity and rolled off him. He joined in and laughed loudly. We were unstoppable, laughing hard and loud.
