well, that was certainly an adventure. seems i suck at the real-time updating, though. >.> this post would have come sooner, too, but the cable was apparently out in this area, so the modem wasn't working.

but oh, well. yes. so:

first day - GOT TO SEE CLAMP!!!!! granted it was only for about an hour and a half, and they were up on stage, and they didn't get to answer many questions, but STILL! and we were fairly close to the front, since lethe and i had been waiting in line for four and a half hours. altogether, from getting in line at 10:00 and the panel not actually starting until around 3:30, that makes FIVE HOURS waiting to see them. but it was totally worth it. ^_________^

not much else that day, what with the waiting and then sitting through panel. um, i think maybe a i watched something....?

second day - spent most of the day in the exhibit hall, spending oh so much of my hard earned cash. patrick and i went right when it opened, and i think i was in there until around 2:30 or so.

OH!! nearly forgot this happened on sunday... jen was all getting ready for the masquerade ball, and bunny and i had just sat down to eat when it was discovered that the room directly above us had been flooded. somehow, one of the emergency sprinklers went off/got broken, spewing water everywhere and seeping into our room. the floor to the entryway was soaked and it was really disgusting. >.< they did offer to move us, but that would have been a huge pain in the ass, so we declined. however, as bunny mentioned, they never sent up more towels and didn't even bother to remove the pile of nasty wet ones sitting in our bathroom.

and then the masquerade ball was.... interesting. since i don't really do dances and the music was painfully loud, i didn't really enjoy it that much, but jen had fun, so i guess it's okay.

third day - day of the masquerade. since we were in host hotel, we were going to get special seating for the masque. except for the fact that we didn't notice that the ticket both closed at 2:00. so me, jen, and patrick all failed to get our tickets in time and were basically told that we were SOL. bunny, who was smart and actually GOT hers, put it in her badge-holder thing, which everyone had been having issues with. the things were poorly designed and people's badges kept just falling off. this being said, guess what happened to bunny's badge? yup. it came off. along with her ticket for the masque.

the good news is, all turned out well. after working her bunny-magic, she got both ticket and badge replaced, while the rest of us were very graciously given parents'/extra tickets. and i am so glad, because otherwise i would have missed THE BEST SKIT EVER. clow cards + captain planet = the best thing i've ever seen in my life. it was the same people who did the can-can pokemon skit last year that we made friends with, so i was super happy that they won a judge's award AND best of show. they totally deserved it. pretty good year for the masquerade over all.

last day - not much going on. mainly did some last-minute spending, watched the AMV awards (which were highly disappointing), had lunch, and drove home.

i think i was satisfied this year, but i totally agree with bunny. AX has just gotten way too huge and too mainstream. you can't find any really unique merchandise anymore - it's all the same stuff. and the same thing with cosplay - i don't even know how many naruto and FMA cosplayers i saw. nobody knows the older shows/manga. it really irritates me that the only stuff there is what's on freakin' cartoon network. i mean, yeah, the panels are cool, and some of the premieres, but still.

i think it's time to sart going to some smaller cons, because it's just getting ridiculous.
