THE POSSESION
Today after coming back from the hotel where we stayed for one night after we attended our dearest friend's wedding party, me and my 2 friends decided not to go straight home as we 'landed' at FX mall. After enjoyed our lunch meals, we decided to watch a horror movie, The Possesion!
The interesting tag line was, it was based on a true story.
As I browsed the net, I found one site and it said that this story was made based on a story from an ebay bidding. The seller, a Missouri's college student sold a mysterious Jewish box (which then found out was a Dybbuk box) through a bidding and he gave a warning that this box carried a bad luck. But people still placed their bid on the box and finally it was won by a museum currator. As I browsed, I found the link of the ebay bidding history. Kinda creepy...
And did some browse as well about Dybbuk box which was including the same story about the ebay's bidding story, which was finally starting this movie making.
Anyway, back to the movie, when I watched it, I instantly remembered The Exorcist, one of my favorite horror movies.
The story was as usual, from scattered family became a happy family after the horrible event.
Natasha Calis who played Emily was stunning with her acting.
And from the beginning of the movie, I felt so familiar with the Dad, which then later on I realized that he was Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played as the Dad of my favorite Winchester boys of Supernatural series ^^
From the range of 5 stars, I'll give this movie 3.5 ^^
Since it's based on a true story (as told), it gives us curiosity to watch and maybe later on browse about the truth, like I did XDD
The story line is well made but one thing which bothers me, the sounds for example like the high pitch screaming seems cut off as it reaches the highest pitch, so it's an ear disturbance. But they got the suspense so I didn't give a damn on such disturbance again ^^
Well, this weekend was a total blast for me ^^
Spent a night with dear friends in a convenient hotel after meeting with old friends and colleagues from my previous job, continued with a nice horror movie to watch together ^^
So, have to pay own debt tonight, sleep that is ^^
Tomorrow is Monday, back to work and...can't wait to be on Friday, fly to see my SHINee Oppadeul on stage!!!
