FIFA World Cup 2010 - Opening match 11.06.2010

REPUBLIC of SOUTH AFRICA [RSA]  vs
MEXICO [MEX]
[1-1]
Last night at 21.00pm [West Indonesian Time], the first match of World Cup 2010 which was held in Johannesburg, South Africa has started. The opening match was the host, South Africa versus Mexico. I think, starting today, I'll be reviewing the matches!!! I just love soccer!! [It's starting again >__<]

And starting yesterday, my office closed the submission of prediction for each groups' Winner and Runner Up in this first quarter. For Group A, I chose France [Winner] and Mexico [Runner Up], so when I saw the match I was a bit upset with the line referee. In the first half, Carlos Vela..no, it was Giovanni Dos Santos! He was able to scored the goal but the referee said it was an offset??! WTH??!!! It wasn't an offset! One of RSA's player [if I'm not mistaken, was it Pienaar??] was guarded in front of the goal!!! How could he said it was an offset??!! Anyway, with a HUGE disappointment, I continued to watch the game.

On the second half, Siphiwe Tshabalala broke Perez's defense and scored a beautiful goal which leaded RSA with 1-0. And not long after that, the Defender of Mexico, Rafael Marquez touched another beautiful goal right in front of Khune's goal and reversed the situation with a tie 1-1.

Overall, I'd say Mexico played with a safe play and as the commentator said, they played with a safe possession and showing patient game [which made me a bit impatience to see that kind of game...]. After they lured down the RSA's players, they started to attack for the goal. In the second half, South Africa got two chances to scored another goal but they missed ^__^ [Perez was a bit lucky huh? XD]
But both teams shown a good game for starters, well I just can't say a fair game because of the first half's incident...

Anyway, I'm still upset about the referee's decision by making the first goal of Mexico as an offset but...maybe that's the advantage of being a host?? That's what my Dad and friend said about it hehehe... And speaking of Mexico, I just love the play shown by Mexico's Striker, Giovanni Dos Santos!!! He's shown a great game last night! Will be waiting for his next moves when they faced France in June 17th... Okay, France and Mexico... Either side wins, no problem with me. But if I had to choose, I'll choose France hehehehehe...
Ow, speaking of France, their first match with Uruguay was ended tie with 0-0...

Yossha! Tonight's game is Republic of South Korea vs Greece for Group B! And for Group B, I chose Argentina as the Winner and Korea as the Runner Up, so in this match, I'll choose Korea ^__^
I wanna see Park-Ji Sung's action, so tanoshimi...~

Rite! I'll be back with tonight's report tomorrow!
Yossha!!!
