journey
So I was supposed to be in Raleigh NC for the holidays on Friday. I was leaving from Pittsburgh where I had spent a week with my second family and my bff connecting to Newark NJ and then down to Raleigh.
I get up at the ass crack of dawn on Friday to get ready so I can be at the airport crazy early right and everything goes well. I get my tickets and I get on the plane. But then the craziness happens when I get to Newark.
My connection was for 10:30am and I was to arrive in Raleigh at 12:40pm. Guess what?! My flight was canceled like every other flight scheduled to leave because we had a snow storm! It was insane, the snow kept coming down so I had to go get re-accommodated. I stood in this crazy long line and finally I got put on standby for a flight leaving at 2:55pm.
Obviously, it's time to play the waiting game. So I wait and the flight took forever to board. Then it boarded and guess what? I didn't get on because they had no room! Back to the service counter with me! I talked to a surprisingly nice dude at the counter and he reschedules me for a flight on Saturday morning but they couldn't provide me with a place to stay because the cancellation was not their fault it was weather related. I had to call all these hotels looking for the cheapest to stay at because I was obviously stranded at the airport. I had only $129 in my bank account! I really couldn't be spending tons of money. I called my sister and she made some calls and hallelujah someone was able to come and pick me up. So we headed over to this other person's home and she let me sleep on the couch.
Then I was up the next day at like 4:15am to get ready for my Saturday morning flight. I made it to the airport and finally I got a seat. The flight was delayed and I was sitting in the plane all morning waiting for us to take off.
Finally, finally I make it to Raleigh and my luggage didn't make the trip with me... I mean how totally "awesome" is that.
Gosh this was like the longest trip ever. Luckily my luggage came in this morning so it's not so bad but it was just an insane trip!!
