Author's Notes: This has nothing to do with the prompt. Please forgive me, I really struggled here.

Greyness reflected in a drying puddle: the sky, the walls, Heat's uniform, and his mood. The yearning inside was at peace, placated by tender innards that had seeped blood when gnawed upon. What the Tuner heard instead were confusing words, making him reject the reality that not everything could be solved with fist and mouths.

"This is stupid!" Heat growled, a declaration said many a-time since Varin lay on his back, defeated, spitting vile truths (or lies) at the Embryon Tribe's five best warriors. "Sera's-!"

Serph nudged Heat. Enough, said the leader, without using his voice.

Another rumble from Heat, frustrated and impatient, and the sound hinted at two throats instead of one. He kicked a crumbled stone, sending it careening off a far wall of majestic Coordinate 136. How could they be wasting time like this when Sera was in danger?!

"Don't you care?" Heat spun on his heel to face Gale, looking up at the strategist's eyes. He saw the same confusion as inside him now, being blinked away.

"We must investigate all available da-" Heat cut off the logical deduction with a snarl, knowing Gale wouldn't be able to answer yes or no. Next he looked to the Argilla, she would care--

but his vision was blocked by Serph stepping directly in front of him. Heat could almost smell the agitation coming off him. Maybe it was sweat, or maybe the shorter male had always smelled like that and the rain had washed it out.

The others fell back since it was clear this needed to be resolved. Expecting a fight, Argilla, Gale, and Cielo retreated until a generous amount of space was available... which Serph declined. Instead, he gazed at Heat's face intensely for a moment and then strode towards the ruined castle. Heat alone followed, assuming Serph didn't want the other to see their leader getting his ass kicked.

Once the doors parted for their footsteps (Heat's were heavy, Serph's were light), it felt like Sera was there in the room. It wasn't just the painting that bore her resemblance, but her...essence. She was here, damnit! ...but she wasn't, and Heat's frustration boiled up even more.

The crunch and gurgle of a life being unceremoniously ended brought his attention back to the present. He'd been following Serph blindly; now that he looked at his backside with more than peripheral vision, Heat noticed that it wasn't Varna who had snapped the neck bone of some rookie, but Serph. He had the same ...what was that word!... that same cold fire in his eyes that Agni had always 'seen' in Varna's posture.

As Serph's face was beset by light and Varna came to feed, Heat started salivating. He growled under his breath and stepped forward as Varna opened the flesh of his arms to produce those twin jointed blades.

"What the hell are you doing?! Don't ignore me!" That bastard. Acting as if they hadn't come here to fight. What was he doing eating when they had shit to do! Heat watched the blood seeping down as the tender neck was sliced open. Varna pulled the body up and ripped a strip of muscle and rubbery veins apart from the body with his teeth. Heat wanted...not that for that dissected corpse to be himself? The way Varna mercilessly plunged his teeth into yielding flesh was mesmerizing; Heat couldn't look away from the liquid sheen that dripped down the demon's chin.

Argilla. His anger put aside easily by his leader, the image of her wet face came to mind. Rain, or tears, or something else...saliva. There was Varna's tongue, covering and closing her eyes with a broad heavy sweep. She wasn't moving. Not even when he took her mouth in his (hadn't she wanted that?) and -

"Serph," the strangled croak was out of his mouth before he knew what he was saying, knew what he was thinking. "Why didn't you eat me? You ate her, why not m-" The strike to his gut pushed Heat back before he could see it coming. He winced but kept himself from showing any more weakness than that. Not a sound, not this time.

Varna took up the silence with vibration from his throat. His whole body seems to thrum, on edge, dangerous and volatile. Heat stared up at him as he was pinned between the painting of a black haired princess and Varna, with his hot breath that smelled of blood. Heat wanted to push back, with all that he was he wanted to push until he could control everything that happened but it was the same as always. Serph had everything under control and when Heat felt Varna unclasp his armour it showed even his own body had betrayed him. That damned word! He was sick of being unable to escape betrayal.

Heat's blunt cock engorged fully with only a few tugs from Varna's hand. He watched the jointed blade without fear as it came so very close to spilling his guts. So close that he figured Serph was testing him...no, toying with him. The hiss of breath that followed had nothing to do with the way he was being pumped without even a glancing suggestion towards gentleness, but with the realization that he hadn't even thought to call Agni yet.

When the spongy tissue of Varna's arm closed around his cock, there wasn't one thought at all besides yes, never mind Agni. The larger appendage enclosed him completely, and while a triumphant hum rumbled from Varna's lips over his throat, Heat bucked into the warm flesh until he couldn't hold back his cries or the surge of come.

Exposed, shoved down to stand on his knees, Heat looked past the girth of Varna's monstrous cock, up to his face. Heat tried to say, 'Sometimes, I really hate you', but Serph made him choke on it.
