Time for an update!
It's been awhile! I think I've sorta been on 'hermit mode' lately...in terms of being on IM and getting back to people. Someone who only had my IM contact was trying to contact me for bacclc fundraising, but i hadn't been on...good thing he found me on xanga....the power of the internet! I think involuntary hermit modeness will continue in the next few weeks as its gonna be busy! But I shall try to vary my hobbit habits more. =p
This weekend I did "vacation" away from my hobbit hole. (my modern version hobbit hole is less round and more square, by the way.) I went to my Aunt's house in Morgan Hill for July 4th. The regular gathering of relatives minus one family plus the addition of longtime family friends whom I haven't seen in forever. One new baby and 3 toddlers to play with! Quite a busy night. Fireworks were great. They were set off just across the street at a park...and I watched them from the top of a playground set. Very close and very LOUD! The culinary highlight of the evening was a slice of watermelon ice cream. Yes indeed! It looked like a green mound of ice cream on a plate, but you cut into it and you realize there was a white (for the rind) layer and a red layer of ice cream inside. She even mixed chocolate chips into the red layer so you have watermelon seeds! Quite creative. And where did she learn it?.....Martha Stewart. hehe.
