I haven't been around much lately...

... but hopefully everyone is still around here!

• Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."

• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity

• Update your journal with the answers to the questions

• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions (I'll also answer more, if asked)

I'm going to be very good and actually DO THIS meme. I think. Hopefully.

earlgreytea68 asked me these questions:

(1) What's the best concert you've seen recently? Hmmm. It's got to be the Elton John/Billy Joel concert I saw back in March. It's been a lifelong (okay maybe not lifelong, but you get what I mean) dream to see Elton John play and I've always been a huge fan of Billy Joel so I was stoked to see this concert. It surprised me just how wonderful of a concert it was. They came out and played like 8 songs together, then Elton sang for about an hour, Billy sang for about an hour, and then they played like 8 more songs together. It was absolutely amazing. They played everyone of my favourite songs and the crowd was really into it and singing and dancing (side note: I absolutely get DOWN when I'm at concerts so I love when the crowd is singing and dancing along with me. Makes me look less foolish haha.)

(2) What's your favorite Oasis song? It was always Wonderwall until Feb 29, 2004 when the Lord of the Rings won 11 out of 11 awards at the Oscars and we were blessed with Dominic Monaghan sing "Supersonic" at the One Ring party. I was in a chat room meeting my wife, etoile_du_soir and we jammed out to Dom singing that song and ever since then it's been my favourite Oasis song. Such good memories from that night, oh man.

(3) Where's your affection for soccer come from? I played soccer when I was growing up and my dad was my coach. I'm a huge daddy's girl so I always watched all kinds of sports with him, but I caught a MLS game in 2001 and realized, wow, what an awesome sport this is to watch! I found a European team to follow, the US advanced to the quarterfinals of the World Cup the following year, and I was introduced to the passion that soccer fans have for their teams. I've got a group of about 20 friends who meet at the pub every weekend no matter what time Manchester United play, whether it be 6:00 AM or 1:00 PM. I've traveled around the world and attended soccer games with friends, and everywhere you go, it just has such passion for those who follow it. My life changed when I discovered professional soccer, so much so that all the trips I've taken in the past 4 years have been centered around soccer.. I go see other things but I'm mainly there to watch a soccer game. Every place in the world loves soccer, and no matter where you can go, you can always catch a pickup game or catch a game in a pub and talk soccer to someone.

(4) What's the best thing about your job? Haha I'm one of those rare people that absolutely loves my job. I love everything about it. I'm in the clinic part time, so I get to interact with the patients and give injections and do exams, and I'm in the OR the rest of the time so I actually get to participate in surgery. I would hate to be in the OR all the time and would equally hate to be in clinic all the time, so the balance in my job is perfect. I love the doctor I work for, he's so down to earth and a wonderful teacher and we spend about 50 hours or more a week together and get along great. One day I might get sick of the long hours, but right now I am loving it.

(5) What's the best thing about Houston? Hmmm. I dunno. Alot of people complain about the weather, but I absolutely love it. I live for hot and sunny and yeah, in the middle of August when it's 100 degrees with a 100% humidity so it feels like it's 115 degrees, it might be a little extreme. But then we have amazing winters to make up for it. I love how, even though it's in the south, it's actually a very multicultural place. It's less liberal than Austin, but it's still a nice little blue square in a sea of red. There are plenty of people from other countries here, and I really like that.

in real life, meme
