Random bit o' Cristiano gushing
I finally got around to watching Cris's interview that was broadcast on MUTV around New Year's and I just have to squeal at him a bit. It's amazing how much he's grown since he first arrived at United. And not just in a physical or football sense, but in an emotional sense. And my Lord, his English. He just amazes me more and more everytime I hear him speak. I think back to the infamous "confident" interview with him and Gaz and then hear him conduct a whole interview in perfect English (throwing out some cheeky words we'd never expect him to say, of course) and I just sort of sigh at him. I know alot of people don't like him, and that's fine. He's that sort of player. You either love him or hate him. I'm just so glad I've been able to see him grow from that gangly, gap toothed kid he was in 2003 and into the best footballer in the world (love him or hate him, you can't deny him this) in front of my eyes. He's so wonderfully cheeky with his little boy grin and mischevious eyes and he gets away with stuff I don't think anyone else could have ever gotten away with (except maybe Giggsy back in the day, I will always remember what Keano said about him.) Like this weekend, when that player for Bolton went down and was sitting on the sidelines with just his boots on the pitch and the ref was trying to get him to just move all the way off the pitch and Cristiano walks by, picks his feet up, and moves them off to the side.. oh my god. I just laugh so hard. He makes me so ridiculously happy. I still am the first one to jump on his ass when he's diving and play-acting and whinging on the pitch instead of going about his business, but I'm also the first to defend him when people slag him off.
Just. *sighs at him* No one has ever captured my heart the way he has (and I'm not talking about in a OOOOH I *HEART* YOU AND WANNA HAFF UR BABIEZ type way). I just love him to pieces and always wish him the best and I'm so fucking proud of him being recognized as the best player in the world. He has worked so hard for this and deserves every accolade he could ever receive. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
And now I'm off to bed. Was in the OR from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM with just a "oh here, swallow a sandwich in 15 minutes between cases" break. Legs and feet hurt so bad, shoulders are on fire from lifting knees and legs and shoulders all day, and eyes going crosseyed because omg so tired.
ETA: Talking about him being booed all the time away from home.
"This is normal for me now. If you don't boo to me, I'm all 'oh why you not boo to me?!'"
"It doesn't bother you at all?" "No, no. No. *shakes head*" ♥ ♥ ♥
