This Day in Yankees History:
1967 - Whitey Ford beats the White Sox, 11-2, in what would be the final MLB career win for the 'Chairman of the Board'.
1999 - Bernie Williams scores Chuck Knoblauch - who led off the 11th inning by getting hit by a pitch - with the game winning hit in the Yankees' 4-3 victory over the Blue Jays.

Report: In news no-one wanted to hear, Michael Pineda will undergo surgery next Tuesday to fix a right anterior labral tear. The Yankees believe he may be ready to pitch within 12 months; it is believed the problem can be fixed by a scope and that there is no damage to the rotator cuff. The Yankees are confident that the Mariners were unaware of this since Pineda had never had shoulder issues previously.
Darvish carried the Rangers to their first shutout of the Yankees since 2000. The general consensus from the Yankees' hitters was that he was pretty much everything that had been said about him. However, Nick Swisher had some fighting words, saying, "We'll be ready for him next time." I truly hope so.
The thanks for the lack of GDP last night go to LJ, since it wouldn't load for me until half way through the game.
