Four teams offer Mike Lowell a four year contract... including the Yankees??
As thrilled as I'm not to see the Yankees pursuing Lowell, I'd love to see him sign with a non-Boston team. Lowell knows his own talent as a player, I'm sure, and he knows this is his one big chance at a big payday. I don't think he'll go for less than the max he can get, "loyalties" be damned.
That having been said, if the Yankees re-sign A-Rod, I hope Lowell ends up with the Angels. I doubt the frugal Braves will shell out enough to take him, and Lowell to the Cardinals likely means Rolen to the Red Sox, and I haven't yet ruled out Rolen as a good 3B just because of 2007.
