I read a longer version of this story this morning. It looks like in your version some of the best parts are cut. For example:
Boras says another important issue is the health of longtime Yankee Stadium announcer Bob Sheppard. Due to illness, Sheppard did not announce the 2007 ALDS games at Yankee Stadium, and Boras said his client is concerned that Sheppard's ailments may not resolve themselves for the 2008 season.
"Alex is the best player in the game," Boras said, "and as such, it's important for his at-bats to be announced by the deep, resonant voice of the best announcer in the game. The Yankees can't guarantee that right now."
LOL -- it's funny you said that, because I was thinking about this and making a joke about the pattern on the grass being mowed into circles rather than the usual checkerboard. ;)
In a telephone interview, Boras stressed the impact that the Yankees contract negotiations with CATCHER Jose Molina would have on his client.
"Alex is a smart ballplayer. He understands that, statistically speaking, a winning team is very likely to have a Molina as its catcher. Although Alex knows that Jorge Posada is a superior catcher and his decision will be colored by whether or not Jorge returns, ultimately it is the return of the Molina that most concerns Alex at this point. Unless he knows there is a man with the last name of 'Molina' behind the plate, he can't make a decision on whether or not he will return."

Sometimes Boras just goes too far, I think.
