The past week and a half has been very good. Trip to San Francisco, new job, great concerts from Ted Leo & the Pharmacists, as well as the Shins.
My favorite pictures from San Francisco are below. That city is amazing. I love cities & I love nature, so it's perfect that one minute you can be in a crowded place, and less than a half hour later, you can be standing on the edge of a cliff overlooking the Pacific.
Ted Leo was a great show on Monday. I now own a Ted Leo soccer scarf, which just might be the coolest piece of merchandise ever. The Shins were unexpectedly amazing last night. I went in with somewhat low expectations after seeing them at Lollapalooza last year, but they were much better at the Celebrity Theater. I wish they would have more shows there, since it's really a great venue. The band really seemed to enjoy it too, so I won't be at all surprised if they come back here more often and play there.
Speaking of Lollapalooza,
the lineup was announced today. Some good bands are playing, I'll have to think about it.

PS: The Diamondbacks are in 1st place - excellent! NBA Playoffs start soon too!
PPS: Kurt Vonnegut passed away last night. Slaughterhouse-Five and Cat's Cradle are great, but his collection of short stories, Welcome to the Monkey House, is my favorite.
