Still here & rundown

Yes I haven't forgotten about this place, just that there hasn't been much going on in my life & what little bit does, I put over on facebook.

Here's a small rundown:

Concert #1:

Peter Murphy (solo) 3/18/11 @ The Granada Theater in Dallas. If you don't know who Peter Murphy is, look it up. He's also an actor & played in one of the recent Twilight movies as a vamp. (I don't watch the movies so I don't know much about the character he played) We were also lucky on meeting him before the show when we got there. When we pulled up to park, I noticed about 3 ppl standing around someone & as we drove by, I was like "hey, that looks like Peter Murphy." And I did a double take & it really was him. The tour buses park in the same parking lot that everyone else does so we were going to be walking by him. He's a real nice guy. Still can't believe we got to meet him like that. Under the cut is a pic of us:

Me, Peter Murphy, and my friend Bobbie.

  • I also got my hair professionally colored instead of doing it myself out of a box. I LOOOOVE the color she rec'd me to try, it's not bright like what I was using before & when certain light hits my hair, it changes different hues. I think I'm going to keep going with this color till I get tired of it. I'm really shocked on how much longer this hair color has stayed in compared to the box kind. You can check out the hair color pics HERE on facebook. If you can't see them, let me know.

    Concert #2:

Went to see The Psychedelic Furs again @ The Granada on Easter Sunday 4/24/11. The whole concert was JUST THEM, no opening band which was fine with me. They did the whole album of "Talk, Talk" for the first half and then after intermission, they did other hits. They are great in concert but I wasn't feeling it this 2nd time, I felt it was a better when I saw them last yr. But I chalk it up to other things that evening that didn't help matters.

    Concert #3:

Got tixs to the Ricky Nelson Remembered show that the Nelson twins (yes, the long haired hotties from the early 90's which they now have short hair) are doing in tribute to their dad. toriru4ever went along with me. The show was in Grant, OK @ the Choctaw Casino so it was about a 1hr & 1/2 drive (even though the directions said 2 1/2). GRRRREAT SHOW!! And the guys even do a meet & greet afterwards which was awesome that they take time to do that for fans. One of the perks was that the majority of the small crowd at the show were older folks so the line to meet the guys wasn't that long. I DID take pics of the show & me with the guys BUT as my bad luck would have it, I lost everything.

Here's what happened: What I should've done when I got home Fri night was to look at the camera & all the pics I took but I didn't just to make sure. Instead, my impatient ass, used my roommate's computer to put the memory card in & it went bonkers when the computer was trying to read the card. It did show up first that there was pics on it and all of a sudden, I get a memory card error. When I put the card back in the camera, it said no images where on the card & it wouldn't even let me take pics with the camera. I borrowed Ro's camera & it worked fine on Fri and she's used it many a times and never had this happen. Sat morning, the roomie's hubby tried it out and it was giving him problems too. Again, it was showing that there was nothing on the card yet it showed 14GB was left & the card is a 16GB. When I went to my friend's house on Sat, she tried it out on her camera & it wouldn't work & tried to put the card in her bf's computer & still showed nothing. I just don't understand why it did what it did, I didn't hit any delete button & I even took a small video of the show with it and even that isn't showing up after I did a recover scan. Course when I got home Sat night, I decided to try the camera out again (cause I was going to take the card to BB to see if they could help me out) & the son of a bitch worked just fine. I think someone/thing didn't want me to have ANY digital memories of the show.

I even tried out a program that can recover pics on a card if things were deleted or if you had a memory card error. It brought up the pics my friend had deleted previously but NOTHING of what I took was on it!!!! Now tell me if that isn't some whacked out shit as to why THE PICS DID NOT SHOW UP!! If anyone has a better tip for me to use or try out to see if MAYBE they could be still on the card, PLEASEPLEASE tell me!! After seeing what happened late Fri night, I didn't get any hopes up on getting my pics back so I'm not overly heartbroken about it, just pissed why it did that to me. Now I have to wait to see if the twins come back around for this tour in order for me to start from scratch again & HOPEFULLY this time have my own newer camera to use. I think a lot of this wouldn't have happened if I had the cord that went to the camera to get the pics off instead of having to take the card out of the camera. (I doubt my friend even knows where she put her camera cord at)
