Mixed blessings
Thanksgiving week this year brings mixed emotions.
On the plus side, there are the days off and a visit to Anthony and Brad (and Tia).
On the negative side this will be the first holiday since my father died. I know I haven't posted about it but he passed away September 30. And though I really really miss him, life has been so darn busy that I haven't had time to process it all yet. I suspect that could come this week when I finally get more than one day in a row off.
All I know is, the older I get, the more I become like him and I'm glad. At his funeral I said he gave me special gift: righteous anger at injustice and unfairness. I used to think that mainly came from being a child of the 60s college era. But now I realize it began long before that.
So this Thanksgiving, Dad, I will really miss you. But I will be thankful for all you gave me.
