SMAP Crisis (12): SekaiHana Tops Oricon Daily Chart
SMAP's old single "Sekai ni Hitotsu dake no Hana" reached #1 in the Daily Ranking Oricon chart on January 22nd. The first in history that a 13 year-old single climbed back to #1 spot on the Daily chart. The sales on Jan 22nd was 13,398 copies which is twice more than the day before (21st, 6000+ copies). Before the "Prevent SMAP Disband Campaign" SekaiHana was #9 on the All-Time Best-Selling Singles in Japan with sales record 2,582,000 copies. The rank has now gone up to #8 with sales record 2,593,000 copies beating Tokyo Love Story's themesong (Love Story wa Totsuzen ni by Oda Kazumasa) with sales record 2,587,000. Fyi, #7 is Wakamono Subete's themesong, Tomorrow Never Knows by Mr. Children with sales record 2,766,000 copies. The campaign's target is for SekaiHana to reach three million copies and if that really happens, SekaiHana will become #3 in the All-Time chart.

Also, there will be new scandal rumors involves the four that has been kept in secrecy all these years by Iijima, but now the Jimusho will not protect them anymore, and will let all the scoops loose. There will be a lot of rumors about the four this year. Nakai's trouble with a common lady in the past and it says that there's a certain reason Shingo never give away his phone numbers.
If that really happens then I guess Mary and Julie really has personal grudge towards SMAP and they don't care about the money they make anymore. Arashi does make more money than SMAP, indeed, nowadays. So I guess Mary just don't care anymore, her grudge is so deep and bottomless :D
But basically SMAP takes higher percentage of their fee than other groups, so the Jimusho probably doesn't earn much from SMAP, anyway.
