This looks great! But can anyone please provide links with Yamapi in the teaser, I have no idea why this teaser left out Yamapi, hidoi! O_O  He's the 3rd main character and he was left out?? Anyway, any links to the making in this morning's news too

haha your question sounds like a problem/question for essay. This is just for movie director? I guess I have to say Nakashima Tetsuya, the director for Matsu Takako's Kokuhaku. He has never shot a movie for SMAP members, but he had several collabs with SMAP. The Gacchaman CM, the Buki wa Terebi CM (bald-SMAP as superheroes), smap short films' rolling bomber special and X'Smap drama SP. He makes absurd movies as well, like Miike Takashi, but not to the extent of stupid, instead his has class, brilliance, elegance and they're quite thought-provoking. I also like his choice of striking colors sometimes, I like his directing style. His idea for Rolling Bomber special was brilliant, it was funny and had a nice surprise element at the end. I love his movies too, so far... Matsu's Kokuhaku was brilliant, The Magical Paco Book was cute. His style might not be for everybody though, because it has its own certain level of absurdity.
Also, Fukuzawa Katsuo, of the Hanzawa Naoki fame, though he mostly direct TBS dramas, but he had once direct Nakai's watashi wa kai ni naritai movie. I love most of his works... his dramas' visual are always breathtaking and stunning. Nakai's Shiroi Kage, SunaUtsuwa, Takuya's Kareinaru Ichizoku, Good Luck, Tsuyoshi's Japanese Americans, he made really beautiful dramas.
I was tempted to mention Mitani Koki, but I love him as a writer more than him as a director hehe... the only movie he directed that I absolutely love, was Rajio no Jikan, that's it. The rest were so-so if not worse, to me.

Thank you sooooo much for answering my questions. Really want to know other's preference regarding Japanese directors, well there are lot of styles, I also want to know more of those that had worked with Smap before, I will check those CMs looks like it got praised a lot too internationally.
I agree, for me there are many cases that scriptwriter who turn into writer-director actually would got a plain or average result, idk probably simply because lack of directing experience or technical skill. On the contrary, director turn writer-director mostly got a success result and even promising career in the new field as writer.
