Star Wars: Episode VII

Squueeeeeee........... STAR WARS: EPISODE VII!!!!!!!!
I'm a big fan of the 1980s Original Trilogy! Not a fan of the prequel ones... cause it lacks the humor of the original.
But the BIG THREE: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo has been officially announced to return in VII makes me very, very happy!!
I looooove the original trio! Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford will reprise their roles, as well as C3PO, R2D2, Chewbacca... the original gang!! I love them so much, yeah including the droids and the wookie, haha.... I find R2D2 super-cute, C3PO hilarious, and Chewie hugable and adorable ♥

I ship Han & Leia so hard! The most epic scene for me is the Carbon Freeze scene in Episode V.
Leia: I love you.
Han: I know.
Squeeeeee...... these lines is a legend! I cried buckets in that scene esp cause Chewie was howling in anger, sorrow and despair, to see Han being carbon-frozen T_T   And the music was epic as well!

But, omg, they're granny and gramps now... will they be the same energetic Han and Leia now? lol.
Doesn't matter... I'm just so happy to see them back on screen together. Carrie Fisher is still a bad-ass even now she's a granny and I still love Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones IV, so let's hope for the best, lol. I can imagine them being a constantly bickering married couple haha.

VII will set 30 years after VI: Return of The Jedi. Rumors says, Leia is Queen of the New Republic now and Han Solo is the High Commander of the Republic. Another rumor even says Han Solo will have a 'gigantic' role and might even be the lead of VII. Fans speculate Han will die in VII. Awww... I'll definitely cry buckets if I have to see the death of Han Solo moment, but I have the feeling Han will die in VII too. If Han does die in VII, I'm thinking Han will go for a suicidal mission that can save thousands of lives.

I wasn't born when the Original Trilogy were released in movie theaters, of course. You know... I can remember watching Christopher Reeve's Superman or Michael Keaton's Batman movies in the movie theater with my family, when I was a toddler. But I'm pretty sure I never watched a Star Wars movie before... I remember watching the parody movie, Spaceball, on TV, when I was a kid though... haha... my older brothers talking about how that is a parody of Star Wars. The first time I watched Star Wars' original trilogy, was in 1999, in high school, when the huge hype of Star Wars: Episode I arose. I thought I'd watch the original trilogy first before I see Episode I on the theater. And I became a big fan. Then, I saw Episode I and I was disappointed. The Luke/Leia/Han trio is just unbeatable, sorry to say.

I feel Star Wars is influenced by Asian stories very much. It's funny how Lucas was inspired by a Japanese movie, The Hidden Fortress to make Star Wars, and then Toriyama Akira was influenced by Star Wars when he was working on Dragon Ball Z. From Japan back to Japan haha. The first time I saw the healing tank in Episode V: Empire Strikes Back, I was shocked! I feel fooled, I always thought the healing tank was an original idea by Toriyama and something that only exist in the Dragon Ball universe! Apparently he took the idea from Star Wars! lol!

It has long been discussed as well by Jin Yong's Condor Heroes Trilogy fans how there are many similarities between Star Wars and The Condor Trilogy. But there was never an official statement by George Lucas about him being inspired by a Chinese wuxia film or novel.

1. Anakin and Padme's forbidden romance as they are Jedi and Senator. Padme is older than Anakin, and she first met him when he was a kid.
Yang Guo and Xiao Longnu's forbidden romance as they are master and disciple. XLN is older than YG and first met him when he was a kid.
2. One of Anakin's arm was cut off.
One of Yang Guo's arm was cut off.
3. Luke Skywalker, being the good son and redemption of his evil father, Anakin,
Yang Guo, being the good son and redemption of his evil father, Yang Kang.
4. Yoda first met with Luke similar to Hong Qigong (North Beggar)'s first met with Yang Guo. Yoda was happily looking for food, the North Beggar was looking for food too.
5. The whole Jedi master and padawan (Jedi student) thingy is very, very wuxia. Not to mention they use lightsabers, fancy version of swords.
6. The fall of the Old Republic = The fall of Song Dynasty. The rise of the Galactic Empire = The rise of Yuan dynasty (established by the Mongols).
7. Rebellion era, rebellion lead by Leia toward the Galactic Empire in the original trilogy = Rebellion lead by the Ming cult toward Yuan dynasty (Mongols) in "Heaven Sword & Dragon Sabre"
8. The heroes of the original trilogy established the New Republic = The Ming Cult of HSDS established the Ming dynasty.
9. I also find Han and Leia's roles in the battles similar to Guo Jing and Huang Rong, now that they will appear again in VII. Just like how GJ and HR appear again in "Return of Condor Heroes" as heroes and mentor figures.
10. And Lucas should definitely not deny this influence right?

Or those can totally be coincidences. (but a little too much, don't you think? haha)

That's why I dub Star Wars as the Hollywood Wuxia, hehee........ Now if only they can have better lightsaber fight choreography! I find the lightsaber fights very lame! Why can't they hire someone good from Hongkong or China who can make awesome choreography? Or they should hire Tanigaki Kenji who choreographed the awesome fights in Miyamoto Musashi and Rurouni Kenshin movies! Or... if Chinese and Japanese are too expensive, I'm sure they can have a cheaper deal if they hire the awesome Indonesian fight choreographers from The Raid movies, hahaa~~
