Shojo Manga-adapted-to-Dramas List

Mar 18, 2013 00:05

Trying to complete my shojo manga drama list, please let me know if I'm missing other titles ^o^   Also, if you know any shojo manga that was only adapted to live-action widescreen films, please add too! Cause I left out those, can't think of any right now XD

Shojo Manga adapted to out of Japan:

Itazura na Kiss (Manga 1990-1999)
1996 - Japan Drama - Sato Aiko, Kashiwabara Takashi
2005 & 2007 - Taiwan Drama - Ariel Lin, Joe Cheng
2008 - Japan Anime - Mizuki Nana (as Aihara Kotoko)
2010 - Korea Drama - Jung So-min, Kim Hyun-joong
2013 - Japan Drama - Miki Honoka, Furukawa Yuki

Hana Yori Dango (Manga 1992-2004)
1995 - Japan Movie - Uchida Yuki, Tanihara Shosuke, Fujiki Naohito
Omg, I think I have watched this one! I don't remember much of it, but my impression was, lol, it was awful!! But it was really amusing to see these veteran actors playing Makino-Domyoji-Hanazawa, such popular characters nowadays, in their youth days^^  I just have to mention that Kimura Takuya had once voiced Hanazawa Rui for Hanadan CD book in 1993 ^o^

1996 - Japan Anime - Yamamoto Koji (as Hanazawa Rui)
2001 & 2002 - Taiwan Drama - Barbie Hsu, Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou
2005, 2007 & 2008 - Japan Drama & Movie - Inoue Mao, Matsumoto Jun, Oguri Shun
2009 - Korea Drama - Ku Hye-sun, Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-joong

Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Manga 1996-2004)
I wonder why such a popular manga has never been adapted to anime?
2006 - Taiwan Drama - Ella Chen, Wu Chun, Jiro Wang
2007 - Japan Drama - Horikita Maki, Oguri Shun, Ikuta Toma
2011 - Japan Drama - Maeda Atsuko, Nakamura Aoi, Miura Shohei
2012 - Korea Drama - Sulli Choi, Choi Minho, Lee Hyun-woo

Zettai Kareshi (Manga 2003-2005)
2008 - Japan Drama - Aibu Saki, Hayami Mokomichi, Mizushima Hiro
2012 - Taiwan Drama - Ku Hye-sun, Jiro Wang, Kun Da
Hm? What's the point of casting a Korean actress in a Taiwanese drama adapted from a Japanese manga?

Honey and Clover (Manga 2000-2006)
2005 & 2006 - Japan Anime
2006 - Japan Movie - Sakurai Sho, Aoi Yu, Kase Ryo, Seki Megumi, Iseya Yusuke
2008 - Japan Drama - Ikuta Toma, Narumi Riko, Mukai Osamu, Harada Natsuki, Narimiya Hiroki
2008 - Taiwan Drama - Lego Li, Ito Chiaki, Joe Cheng, Janine Chang, Eddie Peng

Yamada Taro Monogatari (Manga 1996-2000)
2001 - Taiwan Drama - Vic Zhou
2007 - Japan Drama - Ninomiya Kazunari

Mars (Manga 1996-2000)
2004 - Taiwan Drama - Vic Zhou, Barbie Hsu
Is this the only manga that gets non-Japanese adaptation only? Or is there any other Taiwanese drama adapted from a shojo manga that has never been adapted to Japanese drama?

We can see Taiwanese has been pretty quick and early in adapting Japanese manga, earlier than Japanese adaptations, what's with that? And Korean suddenly follow the trend of adapting Japanese manga, just recently... what's with that too?^^

Shojo Manga adapted only in Japan (so far):

Nodame Cantabile (Manga 2001-2010)
2006, 2008, 2009, 2010 - Japan Drama & Movie - Ueno Juri, Tamaki Hiroshi
2007, 2008, 2010 - Japan Anime
I wonder why it hasn't been adapted to Taiwan/Korea yet? The musical theme too difficult to make?

Ouran High School Host Club (Manga 2002-2010)
2006 - Japan Anime
2011 & 2012 - Japan Drama & Movie - Kawaguchi Haruna, Yamamoto Yusuke, Daito Shunsuke
I'm surprised this one hasn't been taken to Taiwan/Korea, too^^

Mei-chan no Shitsuji (Manga 2006-ongoing)
2009 - Japan Drama - Eikura Nana, Mizushima Hiro

Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (Manga 2000-ongoing)
2006-2007 - Japan Anime
2010 - Japan Drama - Omasa Aya, Kamenashi Kazuya, Tegoshi Yuya, Uchi Hiroki, Miyao Shuntaro

Otomen (Manga 2006-2012)
2009 - Japan Drama - Okada Masaki, Kaho

Minami-kun no Koibito (Manga 1986-1987)
1990 - Japan Drama - Ishida Hikari, Kudo Masataka
1994 - Japan Drama - Takahashi Yumiko, Takeda Shinji
2004 - Japan Drama - Fukada Kyoko, Ninomiya Kazunari
I loved the 1994 drama a lot (it was during the time I had a huge crush on Takeda Shinji, haha)... I haven't watch Nino's version, cause I don't like Fukada's acting XD  It's such a cute drama, I really don't mind seeing another remake of it set in the more modern era, hehe.

Yankee-kun To Megane-chan (Manga 2006-2011)
2010 - Japan Drama - Narimiya Hiroki, Naka Riisa

anime, drama
