Got tipped off from togechan that he's left Johnny's and just released his debut novel, Johnny Gep wo Sagashite. He also has a youtube channel!
His novel is of a fourth-grade reading level which means I'm going to have a hell of a lot of trouble reading it, but I'm probably going to buy it anyway BUT KINO DOESN'T HAVE STOCK IN THE US YET -RAGE-, and it's a mystery. I can't be bothered to read the summary attentively because my Japanese is dying on me after having not practiced it in so long because I'm still half-asleep, but it involves the sudden death of an actor named Jonii Geppu (I don't know how to translate that) Johnny Gep. The protagonist is a comedian (I think), and somehow the mafia is involved. No, I don't know either. (Which is why I'm not trusting my reading skills right now.) ETA: Okay, I think the protagonist's name is Tsukikage Zen, and he's aiming to be a comedian. The summary is vague enough about the characters, but there's definitely a loan shark yakuza boss involved. Not too sure how to read トリッパーの内縁の妻, but she's involved, too. XD

What I'm most amused about, though, is what National Publications is advertising it as:

The important part of that is "GENIUS HIGH SCHOOLER AUTHOR'S SHOCKING DEBUT!" XD
