Greg's bundle of goodness in CD form arrived today! The packaging was lovely, and I can only cumprehend that aspect of brning actual CDs instead of CD-Rs (or ones that look that way) on total retardaation. I went through them all, into my computer, listened to much bits of them, head almost exploded, and took a nap with those music on. when

you know, it's no surprise that people with girlfriends usually have major trouble getting into venetian snares
i can't remember if i had a bad reaction first time i heard snares, i don't think so, i guess it was the higgins record that just got me into it, i bought that in 2003 at some point, so i'd heard some pretty hard shit by then. as much as i hate mp3s, i really like having a record of the exact date and time i heard something for the first time... seeing paul's drive with great tracks he's had on there since 2000.... quality and artwork aside, mp3s are almost more special than CDs, you forget how long you've had those or where they came from. higgins is one of those records, it's just been around for awhile, no idea how i got into it until i think really hard. on those cdrs i set, you now have a copy of the mix paul made me on the day we met that simultaneously ruined my life and saved it. that mix is completely over the top, every song is a total blasphemy and it makes absolutely no sense at all, it's just a big slab of shit, i love it.
halloween in SF is completely fucked up, by the way, you should try it out some time. as much as i like the hermitage idea, there's those times when it seems everyone is on the same page, and you think, well, this is all great. thing is, it never lasts, can't live with them, can't live without them. oh well. SF usually is pretty unstoppable about partying really hard and getting naked on roller skates, so i guess the lesson is everyone should just stick to doing what they do right, right?
speaking of that, i'll send a more detailed email along soon talking about farmhouse or earthship living. and also the camping idea. also cover art project.
in my electronic music class, we watched a retarded electronic music documentary called "modulations". it's pretty neat, you should take a look if you see it around. electronic musicians say the stupidest things. if you are able to rent it or whatever, be sure to make a recording of panacaea's interview, that could be useful. what a total train wreck.
