So much has been going on. I really never knew what busy meant until now.
I wanted to thank you all for sending me thoughts during our last days with Spike. He was seriously the greatest dog and it's still really bizarre that he's gone. It just eats me up. When I stop to see my parents I still almost call his name when I'm walking in the door. It's just really sad, but I'm glad that he's not hurting anymore. Ironically, two days after Spike died I took Hershey to the vet and we ended up having the same doctor that took care of Spike during his last months. Things really do come full circle sometimes.
Somehow in the sadness of the Spike situation, and the craziness of everything else I neglected to mention the DMB shows in Indy. Dan and I went the second week of June, and the songs off of the new album seriously rock. It was really nice to get away for the weekend and chill at Dead Creek (the campsite). We hung out with all of the same people as last year so that was cool. And then in true Jess fashion I somehow left my keys at the campground. Keep in mind that we didn't even drive my car - I just brought my keys in case something happened to Dan's. And, we never took them out of the car so I assume they fell out somehow when we were packing up the car to go home. Luckily the people at Dead Creek are awesome and they looked around for my keys and ended up finding them (I couldn't believe they found them) and they FedExed them to me. Nice people rock. And yay Dave. It's amazing how much I love that band. Only 16 days till Alpine. Woo-hoo. It will be a great way to spend my birthday.
At the last minute I jumped on a plane to Arizona to spend the 4th with my family. My parents and aunt and uncle bought a house near Mesa about 2 years ago and I still hadn't seen it and I could actually get off of work so I went. The house was nice, really comfy, but the hilarious thing is the name of the neighborhood. It's one of those 45 and older communities and it's called "Leisure World." How funny is that. I love it. So it was good to get away even if I got bothered from work on the last two days. I was able to relax just a little anyway. And it's true that dry heat is more bearable than hot with humidity. I always thought that was a joke, but it's really true.
Anyway, I guess that's about it. I could bitch about work but I don't feel like thinking about it right now. The wedding plans are coming along - thank god because there's only a month and a half left. Crazy. So, yeah. I didn't really get to hear much about the London situation today at work so I'm off to watch CNN.
