So, I'm on the phone with my district manager this morning.
He says: "Jess, don't get stressed out. We're just selling bagels here, just bagels and cream cheese."
This comment made me chuckle out loud initially, because yes, we're just selling bagels and cream cheese. (And soups, and sandwiches, and salads, and espresso, and desserts, and paninis, and lots of other stuff). But it made me aware that he really has no idea what is going in to all of this to open up the place. No clue. Aramark has never done something like this, at least in IL, so I really don't think he realizes everything that's going on. Ah, to be oblivious. He's really cool, and he is there when I have questions, but it's just kind of funny. And yes, once the store opens it will be fairly easy and stress-free (I hope), at least in a couple of months when we have steady business, and I know what I'm dong, and I actually have a real staff instead of the skeleton crew that will start with. Seriously, we just need to get this place open.
I told myself I had to start memorizing the Einstein's menu tonight so I'm on the ball when the Einstein's crew starts training my employees. I don't feel like it, so I'm just starting with the breakfast sandwiches. Not too much to memorize in one night. I had the menu memorized when I started with Aramark back in October, but since I never used it, I've totally forgotten a lot of it.
Ladada.
I had a really good workout today. I ran 2.5 miles, and walked 1.5. I haven't gotten shinsplints in just over a week, so that's good, but I've been walking more, stretching more, and not running so much every time I go to the gym. We worked on arms today too, which was fun. I'm all about getting buff arms. hee-hee.
For some reason I have no hot water in my condo. I don't want to have to take a cold shower in the morning, but I don't care enough yet to call anyone about it. Maybe one of my neighbors has already called since we have a common water heater.
All right. Off to study. I'm such a dork. I hope to memorize my first set in 20 minutes. 30 at the most. That way I can still watch a little tv before it's time for bed.
