As I was thinking about things I might want to do/not do/change in the coming year (around November), I decided that I might want to try making the change to metric. Back in high school (for many of you, read that as ``in the age of bronze tools'') I could pretty easily work in English, metric, and what I called `wacky units'; an ability that I owe to a great and wacky physics/chemistry teacher who gave use test questions in poundals and furlongs/fortnight. Along with smelting, that ability is mostly gone from my current skill set, and I was thinking of trying to bring it back, at least so far as to try using metric units in my day to day life. I mentioned the idea to
lemurtanis once, who thought it a bit crazy -- which I took as a good sign.
I mention this today because
XKDC is apparently reading my mind from the other side of the continent:
Converting to Metric.
