Some thoughts on YYH
I am so so happy I picked up Yuusuke Urameshi at neo_rpg. He's such an asshole and crude and stupid and rash and I love him. A lot. He was never one of my favorites until I started playing him. He's so much fun, being a delinquent and all. Playing someone that flies off the handle so easily is a nice change from Near who doesn't...react positively or negatively to much.
I forgot just how much love the series Yu Yu Hakusho is. It's always been my favorite. The art is mediocre, the storyline is okay...but the characters, oh god the characters. They're so much fun. The main four, the Reikai Tantei (Spirit World Team)...they're so diverse it's scary. One thing I especially like about YYH is that there are many many funny parts without being cracky (which is a problem in anime nowadays) i.e. a snide comment here and there, sarcastic remark or just the general reaction of Kuwabara to an insult. I never get tired of watching the series. Also, knowing that other YYH fans STILL EXIST is always a thrill. I mean, lol 18 years old and all. Reading YYH fanfiction never gets old either...I hate reading fics for any other fandom save for this one. I enjoy almost every single one for some really odd reason. The only thing that really bothers me about this fandom...is that there is no good fanart. I mean sure you get the rare one here and there but...usually ew.
My favorite Arc though is definitely Dark Tournament. The characters on the other teams have such well fleshed out personalities, even if all of their histories are very blurry (save for Ichagaki). I especially love Team Masho. Half of the team fights for something so pure...They're Shinobi who live in the darkness and all they want is Light. The other half just wants power...it's a great story within itself. That's why I'm going to attempt to write a fic entirely based on this team. They're awesome. EEE TOUYA AND JIN <3
