So last Saturday was a blast. I did in fact meet Clay and Tracy to go see Beowulf which was pretty good. I think it would it would have been better had they just done it live action instead of weird motion capture CG. You could forget about it during the action sequences, but during the dramatic close face shots or the "look at the hot medieval babes" shots it was a bit awkward, the exception being the "look at the hot Angelina Jolie" shots. Clearly they put more effort into that one as it looked startlingly like real life Angelina Jolie.
After the movie was Mike's Cabin for the World AIDS Day fund raiser which was a big success. I met a bunch of the frisbee folks there and got the story of last Saturday from them, which was as I suspected, that I fell down the bathroom stairs while drunk. At the fund raiser I managed to be well behaved, and because Clay, Tracy, and I left early enough to catch the subway home.
Sunday was pick up frisbee, since league is over, and a sauna and hanging out at Mike's. The Korean saunas are pretty sweet, but not quite as awesome as the Russian banya. Another laid back night with a subway ride home. Which makes three in a row on a weekend which is some kind of record for me.
This week at work has been pretty sweet without after school programs. I actually have free time to relax again! Sadly, it has been balls cold and, this being East Asia, my school certainly doesn't have central heating. To make it even more awesome, my principal is HUGE penny pincher so she turns off the heating at 11:30 so by 2:30 when school is over, and I chill in my room it is colder in my room than it is outside. It has also been too cold for me to get motivated and toss a disc with my coworkers to get some practice outside of Sunday games.
With my evenings I have been trying to spend less time dicking around on my computer and playing old emulator games which I have accomplished by dancing again. My apartment is big enough for a 3x3 meter linoleum mat which I lay down so I can wear my shoes inside. It has been pretty refreshing, but practicing alone just isn't as fun as with other people. I also get tired much quicker because I don't have four or five other people dancing to use as rest time. Hopefully, I'll find some Koreans to practice with as I hear over and over that break dancing is super popular here.
This weekend I think I am going to try some indoor rock climbing and Sunday is my co-teacher's wedding so I will have pictures!
