The LC CAMP 2011 STAFF
This is the only group of people I spent time with for the summer. I had no social life in April aside from telephone conversations. In May, I met with some of my schoolmates again for our last task together - the LC CAMP. We were, fortunately, chosen as the staff of this year's LC Camp and we spent days meeting with each other for the preparation of the camp. We served the community again, even without pay. We volunteered, because that's what we are. We are volunteers.
Even if five of the staff went to Cebu for their Yearbook Outing, we managed to make the camp a success. There were flaws, of course. Those were unavoidable. But we pulled it through. The campers and staff had established a rapport. And one week of staying with each other undoubtedly brought us closer. We were able to create new relations, and strengthen our friendship.
Yesterday, we agreed to have our last bonding before everyone goes to different places. We had a two-hour karaoke session in Watever. Good thing some people were generous enough to sponsor the food and the room. After that, we headed to Mcdo to do the usual talks as a way of bonding. Some of us were gradually leaving until seven of us left. We went home at around 12:15 in the morning.
I might not see some of these people for a really long time but the moments we shared would always be treasured. Thankfully we have technology for us to keep in touch with each other more easily. I will miss these people. I will surely do.
But, as what a popular phrase goes, people come and go. The LC Camp 2011 Staff may leave physically but they will always be valued. And, a new set of people are coming my way: Block ACA.
