Still don't get it
I know some people love KALs (Knit alongs) and MKALs (Mystery). That's fine. Have fun.
That being said; I don't get it. How can you enjoy knitting something bit by bit? Especially if you don't know what you're knitting. The one KAL I participated in was horrible. I got a sheet of paper with the first bits on it. Needle size, gauge and yarn wt and cast on instructions. Then I had to wait two weeks for the next page. (this was through our local stitch n' bitch) I was done in two hours and had to wait two weeks. I hated the whole thing.
So, maybe it's me, or the process, or ... something. I just don't get the whole thing.
