May this one be a damn sight better than the last...
2011 in review:
December 2010: Flood (I was still dealing with it in 2011 and actually my back room still isn't back to normal)
Jan: Informed my job was being cut to 1/2 time. (cue minor panic)
Mar: Informed they were cutting my job completely. (cue major panic)
end of June: interviewed for and was offered the ONLY full-time art position available within an hour driving distance (the other one I interviewed for is supposed to be cut after this year, lucky them), drawback... HUGE pay cut.
Sept: Start new job, new kids, new school, new administration, new levels... can we say stress? But on the brighter side, was approved as co-advisor of Drama Club at my old school, which means I'll get paid!!! ^___^ That will pay for my supplemental (dental and cancer) insurance.
Dec: Grandfather (father's dad) passes away the week before xmas. Wisely they decided to hold off on any funeral or memorial service till spring or summer even as they want to bury him up here (they are in Kentucky). By that time it might be a double service, because I think my Grandmother's reason for holding on was him.
In a nutshell... this year sucked. I'm hoping 2012 will be better.
