Oh, what a fine time it was..and oh how soon was it over...Rogier was home for full 2 weeks. Two people together, all the time, doing great things, experiencing favourite past-time. Every day together. This is how it should be. This is how it is for most of couples. And my advice to them - cherish it. Cherish every second you have together, every moment, every touch, every experience.
We went to movies twice (Hobbit 2 and Hunger Games). I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE going to movies. I can do it every other day. And not without my salty pop-corn. Addicted :) I used to buy mega XL pack and take it home after the movie, so I can finish it later. But I am "not allowed" anymore. "It is bad for my health" :) Medium is maximum what I can count on. Pff..We go to movies quite often. My best impression recently GRAVITY and CAPTAIN PHILLIPS. Do yourself a favour and watch both if you still didn't. HOBBIT is my thing. Love fantasy. And quality fantasy and sci-fi movies are SOOOOOOOOOOO rare...So very rare. I recently rewatched PROMETHIUS and my hunger for hard sci-fi woke up..There are so very few really good sci-fi movies. Last two days, inspired by programms from Discovery Science, I started to dig up some recent and best hard sci-fi books and movies. Nothing beats BLINDSIGHT by Peter Watts so far, though. I love hard science, things explained, things from next levels, "how it all works" explained. Was very tempted to play MASS EFFECT again, but there are too many other projects going on and scheduled for execution on my to-do list. I am such a nerd, I guess..sort of."Nerd" who loves make-up and dresses. I like nerds. Nerds are usually nice, kind, curious, friendly, have high moral standards, reliable and highly intelligent. I like such people.
Another additction I deveoped is sauna. I absolutely love to pamper myself. Some years ago, when for my B-day, Rogier arranged a get-away at one of the best spa's in NL, I was much less enthusiastic. To be frank, I was very shy...v-e-r-y..I couldn't put my robe off and didn't want anyone to see my Rogier naked hahaha :) Yeah...Time changes the color of clouds..Now you don't have to offer me to go to sauna twice. My only thing is - not to come across anyone I know in the sauna. I don't care who sees me if I don't know them, but if I do - no...thank you very much. It hapens enough in the Netherlands that colleagues go to sauna together in big groups for recreation..Geez, no way, I really dont care to see any of my colleagues a la naturel and most definitely don't want them to see me. We went to sauna twice this vacation, to Spa Sereen, near Utrecht.
And both times it was incrediably crowded. I hate crowds. I need my space and my privacy..but what can you expect from Xmas time..everybody is home, everyone is on vacation...It was mega busy..annoying. But I tried to chilled out as much as possible under the circumstances. We were lucky to coe on time, still havignt o stand in line. And when we left sauna several hours later, there were still 18 people on the waiting list. You cannot make reservations there. Stupid. Second time on 2nd of Jan we were a little bit later..like 15 minutes after 10am and had to wait in a huge line outside for 40 minutes or more. I still haven't been in most famous Amsterdam sauna Spa ZUIVER as the chance to run into someone we know is just to big. At the moment, Spa Sereen is my favourite, even that it is so overpopulated.
http://www.spasereen.nl/C9-HOME.html But it is a great sauna with many different cabines. I especially like Himalaya sauna with relaxing zen music:
This sauna is also new and modern. I like modern and can spend hours upon hours in such a place. Rogier likes going with me and seeing how much I enjoy it, he initiated the second time, but he is always the first to ask to go home. Like I do when we go out :) My husband also expects a lot from me in terms of physical condition and he, himself, has a body of a god. I am spoiled that way, but also very much used to it. Can't imagine anything else anymore. I admit my standards are very high, but I believe people can develop themselves in good harmony and proportion both intellectually and physically..hm..and spiritually..three-way then. Rogier is all that. How respectful he is to his body and me in this way - adds to his charm. It is hard work, but he keeps doing it and I can't let him down in return. Every time we go to sauna we see how normal people look and somewhere deep inside I know we both leave with a satisfying feeling that we are pleased with one another's physical appearance. I already can't wait till we can go another time...I always want to try everything, but usually it is impossible..by the time we tried the half of all different sauna's, sweaming pools, jakuzzi's, resting spaces and what not, he asks to go back..:) But as I say, I do the same with going out..We need to try Hamam next time!
About going out. Rogier's ex-colleague, who now works in Australia, came back to NL for Xmas and we went to see him with couple of other peeps, whom I mostly did not know. Ended up talking extensively with everyone and it was a great evening. This guy is crazy about the land of OZ and does not plan to coem back any time soon. We also did family Xmas raids and New Year was celebrated at friends' house with about 25 people.
The rest of the time we were just with two of us. Pure happiness. Happiness is when you are in a state that you don't need anything else..you are perfectly content. You've got all you need and want with you. I was happy. I was so happy this vacation. Oh, how blessed you are people who see each other every day, sleep together every night..I don't sleep well without Rogier. Yesterday we called each other 5 or more times via skype. It is freaking hard emotionally to be apart, but we do everything we can for our future. This morning, on my way to work, I was listening to soundtrack for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. And one track was particularly moody. All I could think of was " Dear, be safe. Always be careful. Always be safe". His safety and well-being is my consern number 1. I don't believe in "God"(in religious sense), but I literally pray for him. Well, enough smoochy stuff and stop rolling your eyes. ;) You wish you had this too, and if you do, treasure it.
This weekend as I say, I got another need-some-hard-science-dose attack, so I watched tons of progs on Science and Discovery on various topics. Also got new monitor, which deserves a separate topic and last month I was playing AC Black Flag, which deserves a separate review..Oh, and this vacation R and I were watching Walking Dead!! Rogier, who never watches any horror, got into the series..which also deserve a separate topic..And OF COURSE we went to Japanese restaurant..I can eat these stuff every day..So, in short, this winter vacation was a summ of all goodies things we love to do. Freaking amazing.
P.S. Rogier has finally quit on Cola-Light. Took me years! But finally I came around to show him facts about aspartam, acids, colored stuff, etc etc..He now replaced it with Lipton ice..Not super, but better...It's a progress. After I gave him my reports with articles, he just stood up and threw it away! Yes! A victory. :)
I have began a big post on Yana-Theory versus THE GAME. But I did not have enough time and inspiration yet to finish it. but it is in progress and I will get to it within few weeks. Stay tuned. Or not. Be happy :) Enjoy what u've got and value it.
