Weather
Some hardships I overcome and endure like a soldier..but there is one thing about which I whine and cry like a little baby..it is Dutch weather. Every morning when I watch the news, the weather forcast is so depressing..In all "normal" countries the summer is in the bloom! 25-28 degrees!..And here in NL we have 16-19..
I will never get used to it..Simply never. I was born and raised in a very warm place, where sweaming season started in May, weather was warm and the wind was carressing...And here...is a totally different story.
Some people are just born for warmer climats (like me)..Dutch people do not mind much..I see girls walking in open shoes at +10..wearing no panties in the winter and not wearing a scarf for the most of the year..This is clearly not for me. I was made for a much warmer climate..like in Mexico..I feel best when my whole body gets warmed up to my bones. I like it most when there is no wind..or there is a very gentle warm breeze..Preferably near the seas or an ocean..like Mexico, again...
Maybe when we retire with Rogier, we can move to Mexico haha..or spend half of the year there(we would like to keep NL pension)! In Cancun, where it is sunny and hot whole year long. Of course, Mexico has its own problems..crime especially..but well.. Also pension age in NL is moving up..in 2025 it will be 67..we are scheduled to get pensioned in around 2047..so who knows what the rules will be there..if there will be any rules by then..yes yes.I am such a conspiracy theorist..but i wish to believe in better of humanity, although as a race, we are not ready for it yet..too much intolerance to each other and unwillingness to integrate and work together.
Here, in NL, we are open to all winds and have no protection from the mountains. In the south, in Limburg, where I lived during my first years in NL, there is 3-4 degrees warmer daily than in Amsterdam..better already, right? But this is the way things are here with the weather..Wind and rain..rain and wind..Bleh..I feel much more alive and comfortable physically, when I am warm..And now my summer dresses are destined to dust in the closet..except for 1-2 weeks a year when we go for a beach vacation.
This year Rogier is on a project at ABN AMRO till the end of October at its earliest, so we cannot go anywhere till the project is delivered..I hope we still can catch some sun this year..otherwise it is simply depri :) Unfair!
