3 types of Civilizations.
Few days ago, I've downloaded a new documentary "EXTRATERRESTRIAL" about the scientific spiculations on how the extraterrestrial life can form...Very interesting movie about the type of planet that might be existign out there.. :) The sun is red dwarf. The planet does not turn on (around itself, I mean). One hemisphere is constrantly dark..and on other there is always a day. The planet is 5 bln years old. Very interesting...somehwat like "Walking with the Dinosours" or "The Future is Wild"..just about the other planet. In 2010 NASA plans to launch the new telescope that will search for extraterrestrial earth-like (possibility for organic life) planets.
Scientists keep telling that water is necessary for life to be out there..But they only mean ORGANIC forms of life, I guess. Somehow I do not want to limit my imagination to only this law of life...There must be something uncomparable. Even artificial intellegence can upgrade (learn) to the level of self-conscience..and as soon as they do, they will be by definition ALIVE.
But well, as usuall, I tend to tell side-stories....
Back to Earth ;)
I didn't find this movie on youtube (wanted to show it to RobL, he is interested in cosmology as well. And promissed to take me to Observatory!! (hint-hint..don't u forget!)..and I wasn't able to find it yet..But I didn't search as well as I could ;) But regardless, instead of the movie EXTRATERRESTRIAL, I've found a short monologue by Michio Kaku..about 3 types of (extraterrestrial) civilizations. Man, it is interesting...and I SO MUCH AGREE. Either we destroy ourselves in stupid arrogant selfish wars...or we will be able to overcome it and become a united nation of people of Earth..I so much wish to witness this moment...But I'm afraid my generation won't be blessed with it..If we wanna go OUT THERE...We first gotta sort out our own "shit" (excuse my French). A nice episode from MASTERS OF SCIENCE FICTION that illustrates this point of view is THE AWAKENING.
I also watched a very long programm about VEDAS yesterday (in between my sleep)...i tend to support it. Much more logical in my eyes than Darwin and Co. But, BACK to Michio.
