Okay
So, first week and some change in my new apartment. It has been the week from Hell because pretty much nothing has gone right. I have been exhausted all week and I'm not really sure why. Maybe it's my trek up and down 4 flights of stairs every day. But that hasn't actually been that bad. I'll soon have legs of steel, though. My dog was taking a crap in the apartment pretty consistently, but has been VERY good since Thursday (knock on wood).
Well, something is wrong with my car, but no one knows what just yet. All I know is that it's been overheating and the coolant is disappearing into thin air. It's been doing this since last week. I had to have it towed from work on Thursday morning to the mechanic so he can take a look at it. I really really hope I have it back by today. Mooching rides off of others is not my favorite thing to do. Plus the $800+ it's gonna take to fix the damn thing is pissing me off. I think I'm gonna trade it in. I will take a significant hit, financially, but I can't keep a car that's gonna be unreliable.
One of our close family friends also passed away on Thursday... very advanced stages of cancer. Sadness :-(
My sister's baby shower was on Saturday. It was super fun, but it rained ALL DAY. I was walking around, at one point, with a dozen inflated balloons... trying to get around with the wind blowing and the rain pelting me. I had been running around all morning like a crazy person, which I wouldn't have had to do, had I had my car on Thursday and Friday! But many many thanks to Anthony, who let me borrow his car for the weekend while he was out of town. It was such a big help on Saturday.
I didn't go anywhere at all yesterday... I spent all morning waiting for the damn Comcast guy, who showed up a full hour late. But he was a nice guy, so I let it go. Where the heck was I gonna go anyway? I had people in and out of my house all day that day. I should've gone to Target to get some stuff, but there was no time between visitors.
p.s. Today is my 3 year anniversary!!! Cancer-free since '03!!!!
This was a pretty incoherent entry, but more later. Must get to work.
