7 stories poster...

May 05, 2005 16:00

today the 7 stories posters were put up around the skool. Excited, the both of us went crazy sticking posters all over the skool, going completely insane untill we realized we were short of the teaser posters. We then had to go back to take some off to move to a new location. REgarddless of how happyy we were, the first sign of sadness had to hit us. While sticking posters near the servery walls, we saw Ms. Legau?? (is that how u spell it?). She is a person of great criticism and never seems very happy and fond of us, even though me and Sara tried our best to give her a positive impression. We asked her what she thought of it, a "o , pretty gud" (already considered a very rare comment) or a "OMG, what have they done??" and she literally saaid to our face.. "it's more of a OMG! what have they done.." she looked at the poster for the longest time, with a disgusted look that i think i will forever remember... after that, she just walked away.. in such attitude ... and left sara and I sinking deep down.. our happiness and craziness quickly got to an end..

Personally, I reallyy think it's not our fault. I don't like the way she makes me feel so terrible and horrible inside.. whenever we tried talking to her about the poster, she'd be like "i don't care about the poster..." she said that when she first came up with several ideas to share with her, she said that when we narrowed our ideas to one last one... she told us that when we started to draw the poster.. and told us that when we were finished and ready to print... THEREFORE, WHY GIVE US SO MUCH ATTITUDE IF U DON'T GIVE A CARE~!! gee.. so upsetting, i'm not upset becuse she doens't like it.. i' m just upset by the way she treats us and give us so much attitude... i mean, as a teacher, aren't u supposed to be nice and set a positive example, not to mention give us lots of encouragement..seriously, even if u don't like it, u can at least tell us why or say "nice try" OR anythingg of the sort... but to just stare at the poster and say "OMG! what have u done??" ,when u previously ignored all the attempts we made to talk to u about it, and then turn ur back to us and walk away is just .... MEAN~~...

yes that's my blurb... i mean i still like my poster, i thought my idea is pretty gud, but i guess not anymore... although, i must say i still like the poster very much since i spent to much time on it.. ( i am aware it's not the best, and if given more time, could have made it a lot better) the response i get realli makes me disappointed and upset... Ms. Denomy said she liked it... i dunno if she's just lying.. but i would really rather have the teachers tell me that it's crap and not let me continue, than have them lie about it, saying it's really gud and then have myself think that it really is gud.. i don't like false answers., though i do give them out myself to maake ppl feel better....

after lunch, i've heared ppl in the halls complaining about how stoopid the posters are and how "I don't get it!', plus the "Don't they know that they photocopied it backwards??".. everyone seems to think hte poster is just so pathetic and makes no sense. Little do they know how much i struggled to think of sumthing that would catch their attention and make then think.. to those who actually took the time to look at the poster, thank you very much. Even though i'm sure this number is probably only two (me and sara), i would still like to keep my hopes up. The poster is reverse on purpose, to capture the attention of the viewers. To incorporate this in, it's actualli a window reflection, reflecting what is in the sky and on hte building across from it. So it'd be like outside the window and seeing what's behind u. One thing that brought a cheer in my heart was when i saw my poop dad (vince) taking the time to read the poster and even took out a mirror to figure it out... (so i lied, i should be thanking at least 3 ppl)

Deespite all hte negative comments i was surrounded by today about my poster that I liked. I would like to say, as a teaser poster, it didn't perform all it's objectives, but the most important one. It didn't really make the ppl figure out what it said (maybe to some) and it didn't realli make the ppl like the idea, BUT, it did get their attention, and it did get some ppl talking about it. Though, it is doing this purpose negatively, hey, ppl are talking about it! so yes, ppl are techically helping me advertise..

another thing. yes.. it is a teaser poster... the real one, which is with everything all the words on the right way (its a view of the same thing, only looking out that same window to the building across) will be coming out soon, possibly tomorrow. I did see Mr. Stern today after skool and he requested that the REAL poster be out by tomorrow. It's what he said that I would really like to share, "the posters are really affective on those who are smart, but in general not a lot of people are willing to spend the time to look at it.." thiss quote really makes me think that... IFFF.. IFFFF my poster IS gud, then does that mean that the majority of the skool is too dumb or do not have enough time to figure this out?? Maybe in today's society, or at least in our age, ppl don't realli appreciate art..

After all, in my own opinion, art is the subject that requires the most thinking.
You can't follow a equation and get an answer, there are no formulas, u can't do labs on it, it's not like u can get the answer following steps liek cooking, and itt's not like u can observe and read from textbooks. art is about interpretations, and how many different ppl can take in something come up with ideas as to what the work is about/ what they are trying to achieve.Even so, u can't realli research an artwork, the only "answers" u will get is what others think the work is about. it's also about how a person relates objects and subjects to the environment, or how to think of creative ways to express sumthing.

Of course, i cannot get to that stage yet, i still have a gazillion gazillion milles to go. but just making the point here. If really, ppl are "too busy" or "have no time" to look sometime simple likes mines, i guess then, it means that

ART WILL DIE.. since if no one looks at simple things, they most likely won't be looking at the more abstract stuff..

and another thing regarding my friend, now she wants to meet him..i think it's getting out of hand now... dunno what to do

anyways yes... that's why today is such a crappy day, now i must go back to doing my two essays due on monday.. =_="
