"Hey there, Kitten." The tiger called when he finally noticed his favorite feline emerging from the building. King spent the last five minutes standing a few meters from the entrance to the school looking through the groups of people coming out and trying to find the familiar mess of curls.
The claret head was busy talking with his friends so he didn’t notice the tiger till he heard his voice. He flashed King a sweet smile and turned to the two girls at his side to finish the conversation. He must have made a dirty comment because he got hit in the shoulder by a scowling Keto. Mar always liked to tease her.
Maru’s friends waved hello to King and turned around the corner leaving them be which the tiger didn’t mind at all.
King was more than relieved that he couldn’t see Duncan anywhere near Mar or in the crowd of students walking out of the school building. After the morning interruption the day before he was quite reluctant to let his kitten meet with the guy again. That was one of the reasons why Maru didn’t make it to school that day.
Opening the door in attire that made the slight feline look so damn fuckable was quite the stupid thing to do - even if King managed to slam the door in the bastard’s face quite quickly he was sure that if the leopard spied even just a glance of Mar he wouldn’t leave the kitten be.
Which is exactly what brought him here. He knew Maru would refuse if he asked him to just stay home and let the tiger feed on him for as long as possible. Instead, to cut down on the time the kitten spent with the fucktard, King would appear out of nowhere - supposedly by sheer coincidence - to take Mar out for lunch or to just pick him up from school.
"Hey yourself.” The kitten’s voice broke through his train of thoughts. “What are you doing here?" Mar questioned, but sounded pleased to see him. As always. Such an adorable creature he was.
"Felt like taking you out for lunch." King offered a sweet smile and leaned down to give those delicious lips a swift soft peck.
"Oh? I sense an ulterior motive~." The younger male said with a slight purr. It was so easy to please him.
The tiger feigned being hurt by Maru’s accusation.
"You wound me. Isn't it normal to spoil one's boyfriend sometimes?"
"Not when it's you who's doing the spoiling, no. There's always sex involved since your primary brain is stationed bellow the waistband of your pants." The kitten answered unaffected by his lover’s act.
"Oh c'mon. Give me some credit. I'm sure there were plenty occasions when I did something to please you without molesting in mind."
Mar only raised an eyebrow in skepticism and gave King a long look.
The tiger flashed him the best of his smiles and held his gaze.
After a minute or three Mar let out an exasperate sigh and broke the eye-lock.
"So, lunch?"
"Yessir.~" King slung an arm over the claret head's shoulder and leaned in close to Mar's ear. "I did find a nice place private enough to shag you senseless, you know. You'd have to keep your lovely moans down, though.~"
The kitten laughed not the least surprised.
"You're unbelievable."
"You love that in me."
"God only knows why." Mar said which earned him a light spank to what he chuckled and simply let King lead him to lunch.
Picking the kitten up and taking him out to eat weren’t the only things Kind did to make sure the kitten stayed his. Aside from occasional phone calls to check up on his little lover there was a lot of marking and rubbing his scent into Mar involved. He just couldn’t let him leave the apartment without proper branding. And the fresher the marks were the better they’d work in keeping the possible trespassers away.
The kitten struggled nonetheless spurting some nonsense about being late for school and such. But he always gave in in the end. King was just that good.
The tiger had to wonder whether all those safety measures would work on Duncan. From what he gathered the leopard might prove to be a tough nuisance. (King refused to call him an opponent since that would mean he considered him a serious threat.)
The bastard sure seemed to know how to get on King’s nerves the short time they spent in the same room. But he wouldn’t let him think he had him all figured out.
Were it up to him, King would lock the both of them up at each end of the world. Or maybe just burry Duncan in a really deep hole somewhere far, far away so he’d never have to see his hideous face again.
As it was however, he had to settle for whatever means he already came up with. For now it was working quite well even if Mar looked slightly worn out from all the workout.
King was sitting in the bathtub propped against the back of it and thoroughly enjoying the hot water surrounding him and the warmth of his lover radiating from the body settled between King’s legs. They just finished getting cleaned after another satisfying session, or more like King got them clean as Mar was putty in his arms exhausted or simply still incoherent after the numerous orgasms the tiger put him through.
Right now the little feline was leaning comfortably against King’s chest and most probably dozing off if his calm breathing was anything to judge from. The fact that the tiger’s hands roamed over his stomach and sides in a soothing motion might have added to his tranquil state as well.
Soon enough though, King’s hands started drifting lower never ceasing their lazy caress.
"Don't even go there." Mar warned him, his voice slightly hoarse and rather worn out.
King couldn’t help the grin.
"You can't expect me to keep my hands to myself when you're so vulnerable and so close."
The kitten groaned and shifted slightly most likely in an attempt to stop the naughty hands from going any more south.
"You're so damn insatiable lately. I need a break."
"Aw, baby. Don't be like that.” He nibbled on Mar’s ear playfully. "You don't want me to starve, do you?"
"Give me at least some time to regenerate, you horny beast." The kitten moved again trying to swat King’s fingers away.
"Then stop wriggling, you tease." King muttered low in his ear upon licking on the shell.
"Then stop poking my back. Or I'll move to the other side of the tub."
That kind of feeble threat would never work and they both knew it. Nevertheless King played along tightening his hold on his little lover.
"No, I like you where you are."
"I know. I can feel it." The slighter feline chuckled and reached with his arm to bring King’s face closer. Even with the angle being slightly awkward they still made it work. And the tub was big enough for them to replay what they did in their bed not long ago.
It all worked just fine for the better part of two weeks.
The kitten really enjoyed the attention. He always liked being spoiled and pampered and now it looked like he was having the time of his life. The claret head was happy and energized; it was a real shame that King couldn’t enjoy it fully because of a certain dark haired pest.
Of course, occasionally the tiger had to tone down a bit the marking he indulged himself into so much - it wouldn’t do to wore his lover out that much. Cutting down on the fun made him all the more restless when Mar talked about Duncan though. It was never much, only the few things that happened during classes, but it still managed to make King prissy.
Just listening about them having fun together got to King and his vivid imagination did nothing to help. It produced images King would rather never witness: Duncan kissing Mar, touching, taking advantage of him. Rage simmered inside him and made him count the days till he’d be finally freed of the nuisance. He could only hope that the last week would go by uneventful.
Luck was not on his side though.
He was slouched on the couch watching TV and killing time as he waited for Mar’s last class of the day to start. He’d go out in 30 minutes, reach the school grounds in another 25 and pick up his cute little kitten. It was surprisingly easy to keep the panther away from his property. Too easy.
King suspected that the leopard had some kind of evil scheme going. And he had a feeling that he would learn pretty soon just what exactly Duncan brewed for them.
The tiger refused to worry about that. Whatever the pest may come up with King would always win. That was simply the law of the jungle.
His phone vibrated in the pocket of his pants interrupting King’s musing. When he saw that Mar was the sender something in his gut told him that it was bad news. And his gut was never wrong.
‘Class got canceled so we finished early. On my way to Duncan’s so there’s no need to pick me up. Be good. I’ll be back for dinner. Kitty~’
Fuck.
Fuck.
“Fuck!”
King had his shoes and jacket on even before he finished reading the message. “Duncan’s” was his cue to leave the apartment and to make a mad dash to save his kitten from the bastard’s paws.
Why the hell didn’t he foresee that?! He should have checked Mar’s schedule beforehand. Dammit.
In a rush he dialed Jus’ number and hoped that she was informed enough to give him the fucker’s address.
She was a little surprised by the sudden call, but gave him the information he needed without questioning. King would have to thanks her big time later on. Right now he was halfway there and was only gaining in speed.
How long was it since Kitten’s message? Were they already there? What if…?
King shook his head to chase away that train of thoughts and speed up. He was both worried and angry. Despite everything, the dark side of him hoped that there would be enough reason for him to maul Duncan’s body.
When he finally reached the dorms he practically flew over the stairs taking three at a time. He doubted that reaching here took him more than 20 minutes so nothing major could have happened yet.
Right?
He cursed when the door to Duncan’s room wouldn’t open. As well-mannered as he was he didn’t feel inclined to show any at the given time so he banged the wooden surface with his fist.
As soon as the door opened King was inside looking around for his Mar. But there was no kitten inside. He stomped towards the smiling leopard who still stood next to the door.
“Where is he?”
“Hn, took you quite some time. Getting here that is. Were it me I’d had your address checked and memorized ages ago.” The pest taunted, his smile widening. Just looking at him made King sick.
“I asked you where the hell Mar is, bastard!” King demanded grabbing a fistful of the fucker’s shirt. His hands itched to wipe that annoying smirk off of the leopard’s face.
The bastard’s smile was by now inches from splitting his face in two. The tiger was about to give him a taste of his rage but in that moment a nearby door opened letting a cloud of steam and the kitten out.
Mar. Wearing a shirt that wasn’t his. Freshly out of the shower.
King wished for nothing more but slamming Duncan against the wall and pummeling his face so he’d never be able to smirk at him again.
“Thanks for letting me use the shower, Duncan. Feels great.” The claret head chirped as he closed the door behind himself and looked around searching for his friend.
The tiger pushed away from the friend before Maru’s eyes landed on them. The brown spheres grew to a comical size what King would deem adorable wasn’t he so pissed right now.
“King? What are you doing here?”
“Get your stuff.”
“Huh?”
“I said get your stuff. We’re going home.”
Mar looked as if he was about to ask for an explanation, but the expression on King’s face must’ve told him it would be wiser to just obey. So he did. He barely managed to get into his shoes when King grabbed his bag in one hand and wrist in the other and hauled him out of the bastard leopard’s room.
“See you later, Maru.~” Duncan called after them. King swore to himself that the next time they’d meet there would be no mercy. He’d show him just how much he could express his hate and just how slow and painful he could make the asshole suffer.
“Bye Dunc-!“ King interrupted Mar with a sharp tug. He really didn’t want to hear the fucker’s name falling from his lover’s lips. Not now, not ever.
He was angry, so damn angry. There were no words to describe just how he felt right now. He walked fast out of the dorm and headed for their apartment keeping up the pace.
“King?” The kitten tried as he was pulled after King, the tiger taking long furious steps. The slighter feline practically ran to keep up. “What’s wrong? Did something happen? King?”
The tiger ignored him and continued tugging Mar in a manner that was far from gentle.
“King, you’re hurting me.”
“King!”
When they reached home and the door slammed shut behind them King finally turned around. He pushed Mar against the cold surface of the wood and kissed him hard. More than for taste and pleasure the kiss was meant to reclaim what was his. It was a proof of possession and ownership. Proof that the kitten was forever his.
And King bit down breaking skin, drawing blood. Marking.
“Ow!” The claret head turned away from the kiss with a pained groan and brought a finger to his lower lip checking the damage. “What did you do that for?”
The tiger just stood there, palms flat against the wood at either side of Maru’s head as he tried to compose himself. But deep calming breaths and closing his eyes didn’t help. All he could think about were the images his mind served. Visions of Duncan and Mar that he never wanted in his head.
He knew that Maru was just being nice and friendly, but what if the leopard took advantage of him? What if King never managed to get there let alone get the address? Just imagining it made his insides twist. He was so incredibly angry.
“Stay away from him.” He finally said in a silent yet firm voice, willing for Mar to simply obey him without any further questions.
“What? Why?”
Figured it wouldn’t be that easy.
“Because I tell you so.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” The kitten scowled.
“It means that outside of classes you’re not supposed to get near him, spend time with him, or talk. I don’t want the two of you to be alone in the same room. Would be best for you to cut all ties with him.”
The expression on his little lover’s face was a mix of irritation and confusion. Though more of the first than the latter.
“When the hell did you start deciding my friends for me?” Mar questioned, his voice rising slightly.
“Now, since apparently you’re not capable of choosing appropriate ones.”
“What’s wrong with Du-“
“Just do as I say!” He yelled. Even though he knew that Mar hated being screamed at and screams altogether.
Maru himself practically never raised his voice to that level. Well, maybe in bed sometimes. But as things were this wasn’t their bed and they were far from having sex. Way too far for King’s liking.
The kitten’s first reaction to King’s yelling was to look for an escape route. However, with the tiger trapping him with his body against the door running was impossible. Instead, his own nerves seemed to calm down as if he locked himself up behind some sort of wall that was supposed to protect him.
“You’re not making sense.” The claret head pressed, his voice rid of the annoyed edge that was there barely two minutes ago.
“Why the fuck did you take a shower there?” The emotions swirling inside him were on the verge of exploding and he didn’t like that. He prided himself in his self-control, in his royal cool, but right now he was no where near calm and the kitten being stubborn was of no help at all.
“I was sweaty after gym. And you know I hate showering at school. Duncan was kind enough to let me use his shower. That’s all there is to it.” Mar defended himself.
King laughed at that though there was no mirth in it. It was an unpleasant, dark sound that made the claret head flinch.
“You’re so naïve.”
“What?!”
“You’re staying away from him. End of discussion. Now go take a shower and change.”
“I just took one.” The boy opposed.
“Take. The goddamn. Shower. Or do you want me to wash you myself?” He said through gritted teeth. His anger was getting the better of him but he refused to let it all loose. Maru would simply have to obey what he said since he was so careless and irresponsible. He’d thank him later.
Something in Mar’s face changed and it fell, as if an additional shadow was cast on his silhouette. Irritation and confusion that till a moment ago were visible on his features disappeared replaced by deep hurt in brow eyes.
“You can trust me that much.” Maru said in a pained voice and using the moment of surprise he slipped away from King’s hold and marched towards the bathroom.
“I never said I don’t trust you!” King grabbed Mar’s upper arm before the boy slipped out of his range and pulled him back to face him. “It’s him I can’t trust. Can’t you see he’s after your ass? Are you that blind?”
There. He spelled it out loud and clear.
“Even if he were I’d reject him! You know I would!” The kitten’s voice was almost a sob as he tried to reason with King. Tears threatened to stream down his cheeks and King could feel him trembling slightly, but he held King’s gaze.
“That doesn’t mean he’ll take ‘no’ as an answer. I won’t let you be alone with him anymore.” With that said King let go of Mar’s arm, but not before tugging him forwards for a firm kiss. “You’re mine.”
The claret head snorted at that.
“Yes, Master.” He threw as he pivoted on his heel and headed for the bathroom. The door closed behind him with a decisive click and soon after the tiger could hear the sound of water running.
King slammed his fist against the wall.
“Dammit.”
It was all that asshole’s fault. His outburst, yelling at Mar, the fight they just had. Their first real fight.
The hurt in Maru’s eyes.
Of course they had minor fights every now and then, but it was never this serious. All previous quarrels were about little things, or were caused by Mar’s dark moods when he subconsciously tried to make himself even more miserable. But that was all.
Damn. Damn it all to hell.
King listened to the steady sounds coming from the bathroom for a while more, then entered the living room and slumped exhausted on the couch.
He had a bad feeling that Duncan’s evil plan has just revealed itself. And that everything went downhill exactly how the bastard wanted it to.
