The Legendary Six Nine - Cruel
The Legendary Six Nine is a solo project formed by Ruka from Nightmare and featuring Hakuei from Penicillin, along with a rapper named Twigy that I really know nothing about. They released their debut single on 2010/03/24. Since I enjoyed Karasu so much, I've been looking forward to this CD, too, even though I was a little nervous about what I would think with a rapper featured so prominently in the mix. Since I'm currently struggling to hear much of anything clearly, I'm still not 100% sure what I think, but my first impression is pretty good. "Cruel" is pretty loose and raw, so the rapping just adds to the overall aggressive, good-time melee, and I didn't notice much Twigy at all in "Suna no machi".

I bought the version with the PV because it seems like a shame to miss the chance to look at Hakuei, and I'm glad that I picked up that version. I'm hoping that the mystery third track from the single turns up soon (I haven't come across it yet, but I haven't looked too hard, either). Is anyone else have naughty thoughts about how much Ruka and Hakuei look like each other in this PV? That's a smutty fanfiction just waiting to happen... ^_^ The PV captures the spirit of the song pretty well, and Ruka and Hakuei are both looking good, although I think I'm getting tired of the eyepatches. Rat Pack Visual kei pirates, I guess. Since both of them have done the eyepatch thing before, I'm sort of surprised that they decided to come back to it. But I only complain because I would rather see their entire faces, you know?
