chariots - package
Back on 2010/02/03, chariots released a SELECTION BEST ALBUM, and it just took forever for my copy to get here since I combine everything into one month-end shipment (unless Diru has released something, in which case the Diru release date is the ship date, but you know I make exceptions for Diru). Anyway, I was initially concerned that chariots was releasing a BEST album because so much of the time, that's a really bad sign for the future of a VK band, but then I factored in Kisaki's involvement in the decision, and I realized that it was just a way to make some more money, and I was quite relieved. And of course, I bought it because Kisaki is my puppet-master, and all I can do is dance when he pulls the strings... *sigh* I'm sure he gets quite a kick out of that, too.
But back to chariots! This is a great collection! At first glance, I noticed that there were a few songs I expected to see that weren't here, but as it turns out, chariots has just made enough great music that they couldn't cram everything onto one CD. I bought the version with the bonus track ("Different Malice") instead of the DVD, and while I'm sure the live footage on the DVD is awesome, the bonus track is really good, so I'm glad that I made this choice. chariots is leading the charge for Undercode Productions these days (though Phantasmagoria is coming back from the dead this month -- again), and Riku and company embody the Undercode sound that I love so much. This is a remarkable collection from a band that has quietly released a lot more music than I thought they had -- so this CD is a great addition to your collection!
