Played more Vesperia today. I really wanted to do a first look at the game, but I don't feel like I really know what I'm doing enough to give a proper opinion on the game.
I will say this: The fighting style feels a lot like a normal Tales game, but at the same time it feels a little aged. Of course, this is mostly my fault for not using burst artes (I forgot how to do them). I DO do finisher attacks, which is a lot of fun, though it doesn't always finish off the enemy. Weird.
I'm a little irritated that I don't have hi-ougis yet. I've heard that I need to see a little battle skit with the Schwann Brigade before I can use hi-ougis, which kind of irritates me a little. Why can't they just give me them? I know how to pull them off, darnit.
We just finished meeting Belius, and now we're headed off to Dahngrest again. Yuri committed another murder, though I can't say I see it as murder like everyone else does. True, Yuri was going to kill him, but he didn't actually do it. The guy stepped backward off a cliff and fell into a pool of quicksand. Yuri didn't actually have to do anything. But he's titled as murderer once again, anyway.
It always amuses me when characters in games make a big deal about killing other characters. I mean, what about all those random battles when we fight people? We kill them, don't we?

I went to the Chinese New Year's party yesterday. To be frank, it was a little boring. About 3/4 of the show was in Chinese, so those of us who didn't understand the language were lost most of the time. They had some neat performances, though. My favorite was the "Foreigner learns Chinese" skit. They took a white guy and tried to teach him Chinese, to no avail. It was supposed to be humorous, and it was pretty good.

Read "Talking to Dragons" by Patricia C. Wrede. Not a bad book, though I think she does third person a lot better than first. Still, it was interesting see her try another perspective. It kind of made me want to write something of my own. Daystar wasn't that bad of a protagonist, though I like his father much better.
Now I just have to hunt down the third book... It doesn't make much sense to read 1, 2, and 4 without having read 3, does it?
