About Vesperia

Played a little bit of Vesperia today. Graphics look really good on the high def TV. I set the system to run in 1080i, and it looks really nice. If you're getting an Xbox 360 for real, I'd totally suggest getting an HDTV, or at least something with widescreen. <3

Xbox 360 still scares me to death with the whole RROD issue, but I'm trying to ignore that. I've got it under the tray on the other side of my Wii on a glass tray, so I'm hoping it won't get too overheated. It sat in my freezing car for about an hour or so, so the system was pretty chilled when we set it up. It's also pretty cool in that room, so hopefully it'll be okay.

Anyways, I'm not real far in the game yet. I just got out of Zaphias, the first town. I'm on the world map, randomly fighting enemies. It's the "let's level up in the beginning so we won't have to do it later" tactic.
Battle system wise, it's still a little frustrating. For some reason the game is much easier than I remember it being last time I played it (though it IS on easy mode), but Yuri still takes these huge pauses between attacks, or after he runs away. It's a little frustrating because I'm tapping buttons and it takes Yuri a second or two to respond sometimes. I wonder if my batteries are running low or something?

Another thing that confuses me is the grade. So far I haven't been getting any grade. Like at all. What's up with that? Is that normal for where I'm at? I was really confused in kor when I wasn't getting money from random battles, but that turned out to be normal and it didn't really pose an issue later on in the game. Does Vesperia have something like that, or do I just suck?

But I don't know if I'll start over again after I beat Vesperia anyway, so maybe grade's not that important. That has nothing to do with the game itself, but for the fact that Vesperia is a loan, so I should give it back when I'm done, and also the fact that I have a hard time replaying games all the way through. I'm having a hard enough time getting through Abyss and Symphonia a second time, so why would Vesperia be any different?

Kor is really the only game I can replay over and over, aside from Threads of Fate, which I've probably played at least a dozen times. But it helps that both kor and Threads are extremely short and pretty easy. Abyss and Symphonia have temples and sidequests that I just dread, while the only part I really dread in kor is Decus' stupid floor puzzle.

Speaking of kor, I'm almost at level 60, and I'm only supposed to be at level 25-30. *sweatdrops* What's up with that. XD

Anyway, looking forward to playing more Vesperia tomorrow. I'll hopefully be able to tackle the woods and meet up with Karol and solve the Halure issue.

One panacea bottle coming up!
