I'm about 90% finished with DNAngel 1-2. Yay! I've actually got 1-3 and chapter 2 translated for the most part, but I probably won't do any scanlating until May. Sorry, guys, but with finals coming up I need to concentrate on my schoolwork. きっと分かるんでしょう? (surely you understand)
I'm about to strangle the Saehara family.^_^
....I hate how they talk so much.

Today was the evening shift at work (1-6) and it was incredibly boring. I usually don't take breaks on days that I work alone and I think that's probably a bad idea. I don't always get so much free time, but there was hardly any book drop, meaning I had about 2 hours to actually do my work. Wow. The last hour and a half is usually pretty busy, though. I started reading Dramacon, volume 3. I don't think I've actually ever finished volume 2, but whatever. DC isn't interesting enough for me to care. Personally, I find the idea of a comic book focused on the con life of an otaku wannabe kind of boring. I mean, I read to escape my own world, not read some girl's interpretation of how anime fans are (which is wrong, anyway). But it seems to be pretty popular despite that, especially with females. Maybe because it features a girl and romance? I don't know. I wouldn't call it a shoujo, really, but I wouldn't know how to categorize it in general, other than OEL, or whatever Tokyopop is calling their stuff nowadays.
I can't say I really like OELs, but I read them to get people off my back and to find out why everyone likes them so much. I guess I can see the appeal with Dramacon, somewhat, but it definitely has no appeal for me. Sorry Dramacon.
The saving grace of the day was that Michelle-chan came over. I didn't get to express this to you when you were over, but I missed you so much!!! Of course, it was great getting to converse nearly every week, but seeing a person in real life is so much better! We went out to China Buffet with my folks and hers and played around with some PSP/DS games for a while. ToP looks surprisingly like the GBA version (at least the sprites do) and it made me want to play Rebirth.
*kicks calendar* Why can't it be Christmas? Or at least my birthday...
True to her word, Michelle-chan bought us all omiyage. I knew some of what I was going to get, but the Yami books were definitely a nice surprise. I've been wanting to get back into reading/watching Yami no Matsuei (Omi and I have been talking about our lack of watching the series lately and how we should start it up again), so this was a nice incentive to get back to reading the manga and watching the anime. More specifically the manga since in some ways I like it better than the series (it doesn't help that the series only features four arcs. It's easy to get sick of them after you've seen them 10x). The Yami books featured color pages (wah!) and information on the characters as well as the shikigami. Tohda!! <3
The other thing she bought me was the April Edition of Asuka; D.N.Angel's big comeback. I've read the manga scans, but it's so much nicer having it in book form. For some reason it gives me a whole different experience... In addition to DN, Asuka also contained some more titles that I was familiar with: Code Geass, Trinity Blood, Kyou Kara Maou! and (don't laugh, Omi) Neo Angelique. Code Geass will be a personal favorite chapter since it deals with Lelouch, Suzaku, and Nanaly when they are children. So cute! Nanaly gets lost outside and Lelouch has to track her down. It was adorable.
(the manga actually transcribes her name as ナナリ, which is why I spelled it out as Nanaly. I think it's supposed to be Nunnally though? Something like that)
Because I'm a picture fanatic, I've posted a picture!! *dork*
The thing under Asuka is some sort of pencil board from a series neither Michelle nor I know of. The thing to the right of Asuka with Dark and Daisuke on the cover is the DNAngel mini Artbook. It's pretty. ^_^
So, once again, 本当にどうもありがとう、ミシちゃん!!! 私の友達は世界で一番だーーー!!

I was interrupted last night by the sound of...quacking.
Upon investigating, I found this:
戻ったそうだったね。。。 >_<
Between the church bells, the train, the traffic, and now the ducks, will we ever get some peace and quiet around here?

As I said before, Vampire Knight ep two was a little disappointing since it was simply about Valentine's Day and foreshadowing Zero's non-human issues. This episode redeemed the series for me by taking those issues and finally putting them into action.
This has been what I've been waiting for. Finally!
This ep was a lot darker, almost like the manga. Yuuki gets attacked by not one but two Level E vampires and, for the first time since her parents' death when she was five, Yuuki learned just how scary vampires can be. Lucky for her, her two knights came to the rescue to save her in time (gotta love shoujo). Well, Kaname was the one who ended up doing the rescuing while Zero sat nearby nearly hyperventilating. Poor Zero...
Anime wise, I think I like Zero just a little better than Kaname. It's hard to say if I have a preference in the manga...
Anime quality is, of course, a bit lower quality than its first episode, but as a whole it's not bad. The colors can get a little dull sometimes and in a few scenes Yuuki's face looked funny, but as a whole it's not bad. I'm looking forward to next week's ep. ^_^
