I've included some extra info! If you have a Facebook account, please take two seconds to "like" my submission- if you do like it, that is. ;)
Metro is taking submissions from across the globe to get an assistant editor for Gaga when she edits the magazine for a day. This would be a huge opportunity, as I have been trying to give her my Gaga art in person for the last year. She’s tweeted about it 3 times, so I’m sure she would recognize it!
It would mean a lot to me if you voted, not just for the chance to meet her, but I do think I am well suited for the job. They’re looking for an international fan who has some experience in editing, and I’ve got plenty of experience in both.
To vote, I think you need a Facebook page so you can "like" my submission. Leaving a comment will also help! (You will need a Facebook, Yahoo, AOL, or Hotmail account to do so.)

Why do you like Gaga's music?
At first, I liked it merely for its catchyness and her unique and powerful voice. I appreciated her work even more when I found out that, like myself, she's an Italian/American artist. But soon I started to appreciate her music on a greater level.
Gaga's music has brought together millions of people from every corner of the globe, many of who felt like outcasts of society. Through Gaga's music, an international community of "little Monsters" was born, united by common love for Gaga and her message. When I went to a Gaga concert in another country, I had no problem finding the other "little Monsters,"- we were all dressed up for the event, wearing her signature sodacans in our hair, or cigarette glasses, etc. Without even knowing each other previously, we already knew we had a lot in common.
As an artist, Gaga's music and performance speaks to me. It uplifts and inspires, it challenges me to push the boundaries of my own creative practice. Gaga is more than just a popstar, she is a performance artist, a fashion icon, a self-made entrepreneurial artist, a vocal gay-rights activist. She is a beacon of hope to young people all over the world who suffer from discrimination.
About me:
I'm very flattered that she liked my artwork, and I would love to give her some more in person. However, most of my artwork isn't Gaga-related: I'm a self-published webcomic artist, and have been working on a webcomic called "Sister Claire: Pregnant Nun, Holy Crap!" for the past 2 and a half years. (www.sisterclaire.com) I am awaiting a contract to have my first volume published in France.
I presently live in Plymouth, England, although I am Italian/American and have lived all over the world. (Italy, California, Austria, Georgia(USA), Belgium, now England) In college, I majored in "Sequential Art" (A fancy word for comics, character design, storyboarding) and I am now getting a Master's degree in Creative Entrepreneurship.
I am currently working on a second comic project about a blind superheroine living in modern day Amsterdam, in collaboration with a writer in Sweden:

Like Gaga, I am a self-made entrepreneurial artist, specifically, a webcomic creator. I have lived in 4 countries and visited many more. As a queer, gender ambivalent, multinational person, I rarely feel represented in mainstream media, which stifles creativity and diversity in favor of "safe," generic topics and characters. I've struggled to be published.
This led me to create my own webcomic (www.sisterclaire.com) and community online. Through my art, I have achieved the seemingly impossible, gaining recognition from my biggest idols (Including Janelle Monae and Gaga herself:
http://tinyurl.com/3sce8uj) I feel a strong connection to fellow self-made artists who struggle make a living against the mainstream tide. I mentor aspiring artists, and have participated and organized charities.
I want to continue making stories with diverse casts of people who rarely get the spotlight they deserve. Because they, and I, were Born This Way- and we deserve a voice.
