Favorite Character Types 2
Continuing from yesterday's post I made about favorite character types, here is another category a lot of my favorite characters fall into: The eccentric.
Always the odd one out in a group, they live in a reality of their own. Often labeled by the other characters as naive, crazy, or stupid, the eccentrics often actually have some innate wisdom that the other characters are completely missing out on. (Or perhaps they just have very wild imaginations.)
Usually played for comedy, although their backstory/current relationships often involve abuse either through bullying by peers or an abusive loved one. (Occasionally, they are the ones doing the bullying, although this is less common.)
Nearly always relegated to supporting characters. Rarely get the full development they deserve.
+ 10 points if the main character rescues them from bullies and thus befriends them
+ 20 points if they rescue the main character from bullies
+ 50 points if they are a Perky Female Minion
+ 100 points if they HAVE Perky Female Minions
+200 points if they have have peculiar mental powers/perception
+300 points if they are acrobats
(I might add that these are the characters I relate to most.
