So there's this thing in San Diego every year...

COMIC CON WAS HUUUUUUUUGE

I would break it down by day, but my memory is shot so that's not going to be accurate no matter which way I slice it. |D Bullet points might be better.

- I MET bouncy_erbear AND SHE IS AN AWESOME PERSON DON'T EVER LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE *A* My other awesome SDCC buddies were lynxgriffin, corrielle, betwixt_worlds, my roomie amorsinseramada, and other roomie Kristin. estelofimladris, scifichix, lady_entropy17, and piratelyssa were all there too - just in the con itself instead of in the adjoining hotel room.

- No con is complete without saying hello to Tony Lee. I caught the man on the way out. He is wonderful. :D

- Ghost Story was on sale at preview night. I finished my copy in two days flat. Trolling the mods has never been so much fun. :3

- THE RIFFTRAX PANEL WAS FREAKING AMAZING I LOVE THOSE GUYS SO MUCH I DON'T EVEN. AAAAAAAA. They're doing another live show in August! I will definitely be there. :D Also, their live shows are up in San Francisco (they're just broadcast everywhere else), so if you're up there, it's worth checking out.

- I saw Jewel Staite again! She's always fun.

- Never go to a party when you have a headache and are already in a bad mood. I made that mistake and lasted for maybe twenty-five minutes. Not the best of nights, tbth.

- ELEVEN FREE BOOKS. ELEVEN. I LOVE THE PUBLISHER'S ROW OF THE EXHIBITION HALL.

- Other swag included two My Little Pony posters, a Caboose poster, several comics, two Axe Cop bumper stickers (my roomie bought the book), a tumbler from Legendary studios, a huge Big Bang Theory bag, Legend of Zelda poster and shirt, Pokedex shirt, and a ton of other small wristbands and things. I have quite a bit of swag to sort.

- The Knights of Badassdom panel was either on the fun side of "meh" or the meh side of "fun"; I can't decide which. Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse's actor, for those of you who don't know) is just kind of adorable, and Summer Glau wants to cosplay as She-Ra. The movie does look like fun, though, in a Fanboys sort of way.

- The creators of the American Vampire comic have a hilarious hate-on for Twilight. They said their original advertising poster had a picture of their main character vampire standing on a pile of pretty-boy vampire corpses with the caption "I don't f***ing sparkle." Marketing evidently didn't like that one, but I would've bought that comic in a heartbeat if that had gone through.

- The zombie walk was fun to watch. I might have enjoyed it more if we hadn't been eating dinner at the time, but at least nobody had ordered beef.

- There was yet another bit of Things I Shouldn't Have Been Able to Do at this con; part was getting into preview night when I had no preview night pass, and part was getting a Zelda t-shirt despite having no ticket because the girl behind the counter liked my Bon Temps Football shirt. That would be the Zelda shirt I'm sending to my brother. Good times. :Db

- I'm sure there is more stuff, but right now I can't think of it. |D

COSPLAY. OH MAN THE COSPLAY. WHAT EVEN. I have a flipton of pictures, but the highlights are as follows:

IT'S ADAM SAVAGE. IT'S FREAKING ADAM SAVAGE IN HERE. Of course, I didn't find this out until three hours later. Screaming happened.

Warrior princesses! This, to me, was awesome.

BALLOON COSPLAY. WHAT EVEN. SO COOL.

I flailed when I caught sight of this guy, namely because who cosplays Rincewind anymore? He was pretty cool about everything, though. This is his Action Pose.

BITTY MEN IN BLACK. GALAXY'S CUTEST DEFENDERS.

Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter cosplayers! I think my favorite part of this was when the small child pulled the plastic axe from the backpack. It was just fantastic.

Hello, Dick.

AXE COP IS GOING TO CHOP YOUR HEAD OFF

This just tickled my fancy. Sarcastic costumes are my favorites.

WAR MACHINE. FREAKING WAR MACHINE. WHAT EVEN.

Katniss! My roomie recognized her first, actually. I was really impressed with this one.

Not cosplay but EEEEE JIM BUTCHER EEEEEE

AND THEN THERE'S MY COSPLAY.

Erica was not impressed with my legion of spiders.

I had fun with this cosplay, and the Keyblade was well loved. I'm just gobsmacked at how well Razor Wit turned out. *A*

Think I won that one.

But we're all friends here. |Db

At least until this happens.

Reasons Linking Up with Linkara does not need a sequel; conversely, BEST SEQUEL EVER.

We make some good-looking ponies.

In conclusion:

At Comic Con, even the walls troll you. The end.

my little ponies, books, dresden files, yay, cosplay, friends, con, tgwtg, comic con, omg, discworld, we so excited, fun, pictures
