Man, guys, I love Christmas. I just do. ♥
We bucked a few traditions this year that don't really work for us anymore, and we're talking about switching things up a tad next year, but this time around, it was a pretty peaceful day. Last night's drama didn't repeat itself (GLORY HALLELUJAH), so things were pretty nice around here.
Also, I got to hold my niece. I love Kennedy. So much. /eeeeee bitty eeeeeeeee 8D
Since everyone's on the bandwagon, I might as well join it.
The haul this year is:
- A Droid X smartphone (oh man so much squeeing happened there you have no idea)
- Bluetooth headset
- Bananagrams :D
- Epic Mickey
- Movies, including Beauty and the Beast and Toy Story 3
- Clothing, including zebra-striped pj pants and slippers, hand-knit scarves, a beautiful double-breasted blue wool coat, red heels, and brown ankle boots that are regrettably too big
- Odds and ends, including an iPod stand, fancy pens, a spoon tray and trivet, patterned CD-Rs, and the obligatory Santa and ornament
- $200 in Visa gift cards, to be used towards rent (that was the gift that just about made me cry)
Strangely enough, the Aunt Janine gift this year was relatively normal. She sent me A Little Bit of Faith soap (which came in a box from a Christian store, which I found exceedingly strange...so I made terrible puns about it. This is how I deal with everything) and all-natural body butter that has Emu Oils in it, whatever those are. Not as good a story as the Amazing Shitting Rock or the L♥VE shirt, but at least it's usable. I think. XD
More important than the haul, though, is the fact that I got to spend a day with my family. I do miss them while I'm out in CA, in all honesty, and it's nice to see them again, even if only for a few days.
